  • Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences

    Hello,

I use rynox nomad v2 saddle bags on my TBTS 350.

On the right hand side the bag gets damaged because of rubbing with shock absorbers, I want to fix some kind of frame so that the saddle bag will not rub with shocks and risk of rubbing with tyre is reduced. I find Ladakh panniers frame huge. Anyone has any other alternative in mind (I stay in bangalore) . Please share.

    Thanks in Advance.

I was bothered about it too, learn to ignore that sound. It cannot be fixed.

Maybe a saree guard on the right side, if it is available that is...

        Dear Friends,
I am new to this thread and new to RETB. I have booked thunderbird 350 stone color on 5th December 2014 at Brand store, Jayanagar, Bangalore . Still waiting for the delivery (Did anybody got the delivery who booked at this period?). I have some questions regarding the maintenance of 'Stone' color. Please help.
        1) How difficult is to maintain this color?
        2) I have seen many matte paint sealants to protect this paint. How safe to use these sealants?
        3) Where I can get these sealants in Bangalore?
        4) Any other other important notes to take care the matte finish.

        Thank you

Matte looks best when you don't take care of it. Forget the coating, that will make it shine. And shining is not what it is meant for.

Not available. It has to be custom job I guess.

Not put any grips as felt comfortable after wearing gloves, else to thin and hurts the palms but no issues after wearing riding gloves.

Not a bad deal for a stainless steel guard but not sure on the stainless steel part though..

i am having this issue for the past 5-6 days..

whenever i release the accelerator and the bike runs freely, there is a chain noise from near the rear wheel. it happens even when the bike is on the main stand; when i release the accelerator after revving up on 1st gear..

i have tried to find the source of the noise, but failed. it sounds like when the running chain would hit the metal chassis.

i will take it to the ASC this weekend, but just in case, have you guys faced any issue like this??

                              • RE Thunderbird TS - 2010 Model - Modifications - Sugestions & Advices needed

Hi I'm Bhargav, I own a 2010 RE TBTS. My bike just completed 5yrs and want to modify it after all these years. Below are my ideas, kindly suggest and advice on the same.

                                1. ALLOYS (for both front & rear): I would like to change the 19"rim to 18" so that I can go for a broad tyre. I'm also willing to change the suspension if required.
                                2. REAR SUSPENSION: Need advice on a though suspension, I ride on a very horribly bumpy and pitholes road. So looking for a very sturdy suspension (apart from the stock one) which can protect my backbone.
                                3. AIRFILTER: Any advantages of replacing it
                                4. Any chance I can move my front tyre away front the body (tank) (like in HDs)
                                5. HANDLEBAR changes. Does this mean I've to change the wiring too.
                                6. IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS: Any use of changing them

PLEASE PLEASE advice as I'm willing to invest around Rs.30,000/- for all the modifications (which include: Handlebar, Mirrors, Headlamp frame, Halogen Bulb, Air Filter, Exhaust, Alloys, Wheels, Suspension)

                                Thanks in advance

PS: I have very little knowledge in these modifications, want my bike to look solid. (First thought of buying a HD but dropped the idea due to mileage. I commute around 70km per day so HD & Truimph burn me totally)
