Ok now to the question of my own. Does anybody know the specs of the new TB350 Exhaust? I mean is it freeflow/with glasswool? is the glasswool fitted in the bendpipe and not the exhaust muffler itself? I have been snooping around this topic for a while, and have read all sorts of answers. This is just for the sake of curiosity. SO if any experienced members can shed some light on it, will make me a bit more familiar with my ride.

Cheers!
g2r.
Hi friend,

Glasswool is not fitted in the bent pipe, in the bent pipe you have only catalytic converter. And the silencer has three mufflers/jaali inside it and there you have glasswool stuffed

Right now completed about 160KMs on my T'bird. The ride is absolutely awesome!! I had a feeling that driving this in the city will be pretty tough, but after just 1 week of driving, I got so used to it that I had trouble driving my cousin's Splendor!!
There has been no issues so far(pretty lucky for that)... got a nice crash guard from JC road, Bangalore.
I am right now looking forward to fitting a better silencer. The stock one is too quiet for a Royal Enfield, though it feels great in the highways
Can anyone please suggest a nice silencer? I am just looking for the thump sound, not noisy ones.

First of all congrats friend.

Regarding silencer change. Do not change it at least for the first 2000 kms. Later you can. If you don't want too loud and a decent sweet thump which is similar like CI Thump (it would be like CI thump, but not CI thump. Less prominent than CI but the sound characteristics almost same) then go for Indori, you will get it from Sandhya motors JC Road. Don't buy from anywhere. I can surely help you with the queries related to silencers

Thanks @gyan_recl350, I will definitely keep your inputs in mind... globe2ride, I am yet to go gaga on taking photos of my bike, and right now with so much rains in Bangalore, my poor T'bird is literally filled with mud. Will upload snaps soon

I completely endorse the Indore silencer as well. In fact, I myself have gotten it fitted on my TB 350 just earlier today. And the thump is exactly as mentioned...very very similar to the earlier CI engine thump (I too didn't want a noisy thump like Goldstar). The silencer cost me 1100 bucks in Pune + 100 bucks fitting charges of the mechanic. I'm EXTREMELY happy with the sound and thump.

Btw, my TB 350 has done 6500+ kms in 9 months of ownership. Though there are still 3 months of warranty period left, I ran of out patience and decided to go ahead with the change

I guess mine is also the same. One thing, internals might be different. Do you know how many baffles it has inside, mine has three and who is the maker? You can see the clamp for that.. Does it have a star and Indori written?

The word "INDORE" is stamped on it on the side clamp. Also, the words "new thunderbud" (yes that's how it's been spelled!) are stamped below the word INDORE, to probably indicate that this silencer has been specifically made for the new TB's. Don't remember seeing a star. Also, don't know the number of baffles it has inside (never really bothered about that). The sound & thump is superb and that's enough for me

Then I think we have Indori from different manufacturers. Can you do a favour, can put a close picture of the clamp?

Thanx TBTS-350.
Completed 235 Km on odo today. Enjoying every moment riding the bull . Was worried about the handling because i have heard about weight and handling issues of R.Es. But after riding it, all my worries were gone. I was really surprised how easily this heavy metal bike was handling in slow moving traffic. It was super easy handling in zigzags & corners. May be because of good weight distribution & good round profile M.R.F tyres. Only worry is from yesterday, hearing a kichhh kichhh mouse like sound around engine area while pulling the clutch occasionally. Can there be a problem in clutch assembly? Any help Brothers?

Not even 10 days after taking delivery, and a Rust like formation on the joint where the exhust pipe joins the muffler... Pics attached...
Never expected this kind of quality issues from RE... Have to get it fixed during first service...

Buddy don't be too concerned.. This type of rust-like formation/change of colour is normal. It is the same in case of my TB as well. Just that, I don't remember whether it started happening as early as 10 days after delivery of my bike. But then again, this could vary depending on certain factors such as the humidity of the city where you live, fuel mixture (rich/lean), rain/water retention etc etc..

Completely agree with you!
Same place my friend. Have not been to Pangong Lake or Nubra. Just wary of current political situation. Still plan is for next year and there is so much to prepare. Most of all is my thought if I should do it again or not. My heart wont give up on me. I had 3 very close encounters. All an experience. Yet it was the happiest few days in my life I can always go back to. But I wont give up.

I can see how you feel, especially within 10days of such an incident. Expect the worst and anything better than that will be best !

BTW, when is your bull's 1st service scheduled? Of course you can ask the SVC to fix it. Somehow I have a strong feel this is not going to be a permanently fixed by them . This definitely needs an added effort from your end too.

I already see lot of water spots on the chrome parts indicating salt water exposure. It should be left like that. You should take the pains to wash the bike at least once in 3 days during monsoons to keep rust off bay. I understand it is tiresome but necessary after investing so much money in it. Do not water wash in shops. They use salt/hard water and top it by spraying cutting oil in the pretext of polishing. Even if you do, back home, run a stream of RO/mineral water again. Sounds too much eh? Yes it is. But this is what it takes to maintain an expensive bull.

Now, if it is indeed rust in the picture, use 1500/2000grit sandpaper to rub of the rust. It goes away in a jiffy. Once gone dab a piece of cloth using WD-40/Zorrick and wipe the area. As a preventive measure, spray WD-40 on all joints, nuts, crevices before and after washing the bike. You can spray on chain as well if you are not going to use it for some days during monsoon. Wipe off excess spray. I guarantee a rust free bike if you follow this procedure. Finally, wash, polish and wax bike every month with quality product(motomax, mothers, sonax) for long lasting finish and prevent oxidation.

It is indeed disheartening to see a new bike like this. Request you to post a new picture once the treatment is done so that we can update our memories with the new picture .

I can't make it out what exactly is the problem, something when I press the front brake at that point of rotation, or the clutch. This is not the whirring sound on application of the front brake (which I was told to ignore by ASC as the brakes will rub itself to shape), but that screechy sound of an old machine part.
It could either be worn out disc pad or mud stuck in calipers. First, have the calipers sprayed down with water, clean the holes in plate and sand the edges of disc plate with sandpaper. Clean the disc pad with sand paper as well. Check again when dry. It should be gone. Quite common during rains. If it still persists, it might need further examination.
