Re: Hero Honda CBZ Classic
Guys, I think I got my CBZ into some trouble!
Please help me!
Last year, November, my bike shut down completely, and wouldn't start. So, I called up the Hero showroom's service center near me and they came to pick it up. The person who checked my bike said that the CDI needed replacement, and he said it would be better if he went and got the CDI by himself and not via the service center. So, I thought, OK, this guy knows what to do, so let's get this done as he says. He did the work and afterwards he demanded Rs. 2500 for it. I did give him that sum, but this is where the trouble started.
The bike then worked, but it wouldn't go above 6000 rpm!! After I told him that, he said that the timing needs to be adjusted which he would do if I gave him the bike for a day or so. I didn't get any time until last Saturday (GATE preparation and the exam stuff, so...). I gave it to him and told him to complete whatever was left last time. Now he told me the carburetor needs replacement which would cost upwards of 7000 to 8000 rupees! I told him to just clean the carburetor and give the bike back to me. He did not take my word and changed two jets in the carburetor by himself, and not even the service center's but from some junk, maybe. Now the bike runs even shittier, and he is demanding me a 500 extra for the jets he bought on his own! I rode it back home and was leaving for my friend's place, and I stopped near the road to check my ringing phone. Now the bike stopped, and it wouldn't start no matter I turn on the choke or not!!! It started after a frustrating few minutes(It is a kick starter). I checked the carburetor and saw a leak from the AFR screw! Now the bike runs shittier (wouldn't cross 7k rpm now, and would stop abruptly) and is unreliable, thanks to this guy from the service center.
Please advice me on what to do. I want to complain to Hero by calling their customer support and to the service center supervisor. But what do you guys think I should do?
UPDATE1: Checked the AFR screw, as to why it was leaking. The washer is missing from the screw, which I saw last time placed above the spring on the screw.
UPDATE2: They fixed it all after I complained on the Hero Customer Care number. Mechanic said he changed some settings(i didn't bother to ask what), and had to clean a clogged carburetor(Which I am sure wasn't the issue, as it was cleaned twice before).
Although it revs fine, I need to change the oil now. Will change to 15W50 oil and see if it makes it run smooth at high revs.Last edited by layman806; 03-17-2018, 05:21 PM.

Re: Hero Honda CBZ Classic
Even i dont know the logic of insurance company ,I renewed my bike(2004 model) insurance last week from ICICI Lombard and they valued it as 27500 ,6 year back they valued it as 18000.I have a break period as well in between for 2 years as i was away from INDIA.Originally posted by Hero View PostSlightly off topic. I recently renewed insurance for my CBZ. The bike is absolutely fine, ran for 35k odd Kms only. The insurance company valued my bike at Rs 6000! I just putting this out there for relative comparison only.

Never trust a service center mech who tells that he will do it outside for cheaper or better.Originally posted by layman806 View PostGuys, I think I got my CBZ into some trouble!

They just fish for opportunity to make quick buck.
You cannot trust people who are not faithful to the place they work.
Give it to ASC or Local mech but not these type of thugs.
