No the air is not leakingOriginally posted by Praful View PostIs air leaking ?
If not, then you don't need to do anything.
But when you try to replace the tyre, it may not seal properly and you may have to fix the bend at that time.

Abhimanyu, I agree to your point about the pressure on tire due to high speed brakingOriginally posted by abhimanyu31 View PostWhoa
... You need to change the rim ASAP. This the front wheel, which under high speed braking will put tremendous pressure on the tyre making the contact patch deform and expand. This phenomena puts high stress on the side walls of the tyre, which in turn puts pressure on the lip of the wheel rim and the tyre collar. Any compromise in the structural integrity of this assembly can have fatal consequences.
The close up pictures are kind of exaggerating the bend in the rim
I have no balance issues with the bike, when I let go off the handlebar the bike still goes straight (I usually don't do this, but had to check the severity of the bend)
Thanks a lot for your suggestions and your sound knowledge about the rims and tires. Looks like you have gone through tire bible a lot

Any idea about how I can claim insurance for the front rims? Being a metal part the insurance should cover at least 90%Originally posted by Mithungo View PostThe alloys are approx 30k apiece now. But can't you claim insurance? @TorqueMaster : The current IRCs are absolutely crap in ice (To be fair, no tyre will be awesome). But rest of the Himachal\Rajastan rides can be done - if needed.
What should be the reason for the claim?

Bipr15 - Never compromise on the grade of the oil, especially the number/ viscosity rating that comes after W.Originally posted by Bipr15 View PostOnly yamalube n mobil1 is available here plz recommend from one of these yamalube semi synthetic 15w40 or mobil 1 fully synthetic 10w40 which one ?
For instance the viscosity rating before the W letter be 10W /15W/ 20W mainly defines the cold start or weight of the oil when the engine is cold and the number after W like W40, W50 is the weight at higher temperatures.
For a bike like the 250R which can be operated at very high RPMs the engine heats up and you have to pay more attention to the number that comes after the W. The number before the W can be lower than 15 or 10 if you are living in a very cold place with sub zero temperatures and seeing that you are from Bangladesh I am sure the temperature does not drop below 0.
Please ask around for better/ other brand of oils. Some suggestions:
1. Motul 5100 - 15W-50 (Semi - synth)
2. Motul 7100 - 20W-50 (Fully synthetic single ester)
3. Motul 300V - 15W-50 (Fully synthetic double ester) - very expensive 1060 per liter and probably the best available oil for Ninja 250 in india
4. Castrol Activ 4T - 20W - 50 (Mineral oil)
5. Castrol Power 1 4T - 15W-50 (Semi-synthetic)
6. Shell AX7 - 15W-50 (Semi synthetic - has recently started out with this rating, previously had only 10w-40)
7. Shell Ultra - 15W - 50( fully synthetic - Again has recently started out with this rating, previously had only 10w-40)
check site : Shell Advance Ultra - Shell Global
Personally I would suggest not going for Yamalube or Mobil1 with the wrong grade. If you are able to get Mobil1 with the right rating from amazon go for it.
Other wise try and stick to these oils and also make sure you buy some 4-5 liters just so that you don't run out of stock and oils have a shelf life of minimum 5 years and they do not have an expiry date
Also, change your oil filter whenever you change the brand or grade of oil. Hope this helps
Thanks

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
My bike was parked in the open for a last few days and it has been raining too. When I tried to start it nothing happens. The lights are lighting up but nothing happens on pushing the starter button. I checked for the stand and gear but it does not seem to crank up. There is absolutely no sound. First I thought the battery could be the culprit as it is going to be 4 yrs but then the lights light up bright and there is absolutely no sound. Could it be the fuse? What should be the line of action for me to resolve this issue

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
Recently my ninja 250 has developed a new heating issue. The radiator fan doesnt run after the engine temp reaches its recommended heat level. Pbk ve checked the fan, radiator, thermal sensor, radiator fan relay n the ecu & the fuse too. Everything is working normal & fine. The service technicians say this issue is new for them cudn figure out whats would be it. Can you guys help me out in this?

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
Since every other component Except the Thermostat had been checked, I would request you to check the Thermostat also ....It is a unit meant to keep the coolant from circulating through radiator till the coolant reaches 75~80 C temp. A stuck or low opening of the thermostat will lead to problem of heating ..Originally posted by whizzkid_ram View PostRecently my ninja 250 has developed a new heating issue. I have posted a picture to help you understand and identify the same...
The unit shown in the center of picture is the Thermostat
Checking can be done by replacing the part...If the part is not available, then you can remove it from inside the housing and run without it , till you get it...This will mean that your engine coolant will flow freely through Radiator and Temperature will come up very late...due to this your FE may become low...no other ill effects..Last edited by psr; 08-14-2014, 02:27 PM.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
