If you have the money, try to buy an upgrafe to the present bike. If you are getting a good deal on Ninja 250, get it. RC200 can take sometime to come into the market.

      Ride safe and have fun.

You should ask this question in the D390 thread.
I think D390 offers more power and a kind of rush feeling than the ninja 250. This might be one of the reasons.

Yep, your right. I was about to be one of them. But I backed out cos I wasn't ok compromising on my sports style of riding.
Compared to ninja the duke is more practical and has more usable power.
If I rip the ninja I can't engage 6th gear anywhere in the city. The duke has a steeper power band thus is more suitable to city conditions.
The upright riding style is more practical for touring and regular riding.
It's more fun in all conditions. Ninja is fun on open Tarmac.
I actually booked the duke 390, but I wouldn't want to switch to a single cylinder upright riding bike. So I took the money back,

I replaced my N250 battery with the Duke200 battery. Same voltage rating @12V and I have been using it for the past six months. Also, during this time, my bike was lying unused for about 10 days. No issues at all. And if I remember correctly the price was around 1700. Original battery costs you upwards of Rs 5000. So, as per my opinion you can opt for the same.

Bajaj is bombarding the motorcycle market with bikes for all sorts of ppl.. after maintaining duke for more than a year , I can safely say that even a student with very low pocket money can maintain it ..
I guess I'll go with the rc and add an akrapovic exhaust..
Basic service expense for a Ktm it's just around 1.2k for 5k kms . The spares are dirt cheap too .. could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the spares pricing list..

Performance racing store should be able to get you the Yuasa for 7k (the price is a few years old).

The Duke is a generation ahead of the N250. It offers more VFM, more power at half the price.
But my personal experience is that 'new' bikes come with their share of problems,
If you are willing to wait 5-6 months go for the RC390. But I am not sure of the parts quality though.

After my brief encoutner with KTM showroom guys in Hyderabad, I came to know that RC series will be launched one at a time and one piece too, like Ninja - order and then you get it. No stocks will be kept for it.

I actually went there to test D200/390 and ended up enquiring about used N250. The spares of Ninja will be small bombs to me, 11K for one side fairing, but I was assured that the spares will reach in 4-5 days.

Ktm is eyeing volumes from all its bikes and I am pretty sure that they'll produce more to meet the demand. Rc will b selling in huge numbers unlike ninja.. they will definitely produce around 5k bikes by the time of launch..
Ktm is already number 1 premium motorcycle brand in India with sales numbers skyrocketing.. they will definitely build up the lead..

If its the disk rotor, its very expensive to get it from Bajaj pro biking. It costs 16800 for the front disk rotor alone, here in pune. The after market options are real cheap with EBC starting around 120USD. I have even checked for an OEM rotor with Tyga performance in US which costs around 110 USD.

The only catch is you might have to pay import duties of 30%. But it should still work out to be cheaper.
