I see very little brake fluid in the front disc master cylinder on the handle. Calls for a refill I guess... What might be the cost involved? . I also need to change the spark plug and front brake pads.. can someone plz estimate the cost ?
Has anyone got the fuel filter changed? .. mine has run 13k kms

psych0hans : That's a wonderfully long list.
Recently I did a 1200kms 2 day ride on my ninja and i am really amazed how accomplished it is, not that i was doubting it earlier, but it just made me love it even more. It is 20000kms old. There was not even a single issue apart from a blown radiator fan fuse. I had a few doubts. Will it be comfortable? Can it maintain high cruising speeds in the Tamil Nadu heat? Could it give a good efficiency at prolonged high speeds? I never really doubted the reliability part ,but still since it was my 1st long ride so i was a little bit concerned.
I had to start the ride at almost 12p.m. as against the conventional morning starts so i was a bit worried as i had to cover 600kms 1 way and I didn't wanna travel at night, since this being my 1st ride. I completed it in almost 7hrs. with a few breaks and not to forget the afternoon bangalore traffic that made my getting off very frustrating. the bike was able to maintain speeds 120-130 all the time. Not that I was riding rash or anything like that. NH7 is pureeeeee pleasureeee. The best part is there is still a lot of speed left so you won't have any trouble overtaking some fast moving cars. I rode for like 200kms-250kms straight without any back or wrist or knee pain (This being my 1st long ride). But however there were a few things i learnt, always carrying the chain lube for such a long ride, the chain became dry in the returning part of my ride, so i got the engine oil on it. And i think, the best and the highest cruising speeds in India is around 120kmph, anything beyond that would be a bit dangerous considering the traffic and a few people. The bike gave a mileage of around 28, i expected 25 and i was really happy considering the speed and heat. On the return leg i had to start late again at around 2p.m. and i realized that i hadn't taken any pictures while coming, so i took a few pictures. The thing was I wanted to take the pictures but i was enjoying the ride so much that i really didn't feel like stopping for pictures. However, I took a few but that effort was just for the heck of taking pictures. Finally, I reached home at around 10 and yes no wrist pain or pain anywhere. In fact, the next day I had a football match at 6 and there was no fatigue whatsoever even after such a long trip (I guess). There were a few car drivers who raced and they would have probably returned with a bruised ego.
IMO Ninja is the most suitable bike in India for cruising. There were a few times in the ride where i was like without any reason.

hellbreaker46: Ninja is a very capable tourer. I did 2400 Kms last december without any hitch. And yes, I did carry my spare oil and lubes. The only grouch is in the cosmetics department. The tankbag I used left a lot of scratches on the tank.

One quick query to the owners: I have been told that we can use the KTM Duke 200's battery in the Ninja without any lag in output. Can anyone confirm / verify this? Cost wise, its about 2500 bucks compared to 9000 ish for the OEM Ninja (Yuasa i think)

Alternatively, any other battery suggested?

The batteries are same in size and power output so no problem. Duke battery prices have gone down and I purchased it at 2250 (without negotiation) yesterday.
