The paint is available in Thailand since it's Ninja country. Try there, if you are finding it difficult. Let me know, I can source it for you.

        Hello guys,

This is my first writing on Xbhp even though i was a member for eons. Some of my points might help fellow riders who are in hunt for a used Ninja 250r. First of all, its more a love to the green machine than outright performance or anything compared to the current crop of sports bike out there. I always wished for a Garage and a sports bike in my life and thank god, the garage part is okie by now.

        Pros:
People will still stare and give thumbs up to a well maintained & cleaned Ninja. Not even Duke ave that exclusivity.
Twin cylinder experience is any day better than a single cylinder. The sound is absolute pleasure compared to single.
        VIP treatment
Gals somehow love the green color
Its a good bike to tour on
Its a good bike to step into track riding and thus to bigger multi cylinder bikes.
        Reliability and quality of parts.
        International recognition.

        Cons:
Its very expensive if u put it down and your insurance amount will already be a lesser percentage and u know about fiber parts.
Its an expensive machine to take care of if ever u need to replace some non regular parts.
Mileage, don't expect anything more than 25kmpl on city and 28kmpl on highway. (real word figures)
She's sensitive, u need to constantly love and care !

        Now some good news:
U can use MRF Rev-C tire on front as well as back. I never find it lacking grip unless its pouring heavily. Now michellin is also a good option
If u fuse the headlamp bulb, u can straight away fit a Pulsar 220 bulb.
Brake pads ? My friend is using old CBZ pads on rear.
Spark plug ? Go get it from a yamaha showroom.
Battery gone ? Get a Duke 200 battery for cheap price.
Chain & sprocket ? Get a Rolon of same specs.
Brake levers, footpegs, windshields etc ? get it from Ebay

        Parts:
In case of emergency, u can always order parts from USA: kawasakioemparts.com (more expensive though) though you will get all the parts u want ateast for the next 20 years. :P
Many aftermarket parts are available in Ebay

So thats it for now, ill try to update this thread with replacement parts which works 100%

Thanks for sharing this valuable info and helping us to keep our running costs down. You are spot on the various points you have mentioned.

In city riding, I have managed to coax out 30 kmpl on my pre-worshipped N250. Any idea which model of the Bosch engine filter is a direct fit on a 2010 N250R? Any what about after market air filter from other bike brands that can be a direct fit? Buying genuine Kawi parts from the service station means paying the sticker price and I was wondering if these can be sourced from elsewhere where the prices are lower than the MRP. Where in Bengaluru can I get the parts at a reasonable price? We have a number of Bengaluru riders on this forum who can provide valuable pointers.

Let's keep this tread alive and help one another

Back from servicing the bike.. Got a nice bill of 8000
Did vacuum sync, spark plug and other variable changes, Motul 7100 2Lt.

I am having sweet dreams about the next one at 24000 kms. Have to replace chain and sprocket and both the tyres..

Yeah, Rs 8000/- means u must have encountered 12k interval service. It's the right amount. They showed me the service expense details for all the services. It's Rs 5467/- + Rs 2000/- for Motul 7100 and oil filter. But it's an important milestone service. I am lucky that the pro biking dealer happily agreed to let me stay there for the service as I am experienced in it. They are so cool and said just come down for a day or two for the 24k service. I insisted them to use torque wrench for correct tightening which is a must for longevity. As far as I know no service center is using it. So pls make sure they use it for tightening every single nut and bolt. And hey, any difference after vacuum sync?

30kmpl in city condition is simply great. BTW, I have never heard about Bosch air filters. But my recommendation is don't go for an aftermarket filter unless you want some more intake sound. If latter is the case, get a K&N for Rs 4450/- which claims to live the life of the bike itself. Otherwise stick to the company thing itself. Kawasaki is not ignorant enough not to provide a better filter in such high performing 250cc. The original one costs Rs 450/-. U can change it yourself if you have some engine oil left with you. Please spend all your resources and time on valve clearance, vacuum sync, spark plugs etc. This bike of ours is made to live a lifetime of ours if properly serviced.

Did the sync at 19k kms. Yes.. there is a marked difference in sound, and slight change in pickup. Right cylinder was getting more fuel than left.
No valve adjustments were made - clearances still in median only.
All pbk showrooms allow 'us' inside the workshop (at least in Mumbai, Blore and Chandigarh) .. no need to ask .

P.S: My fuel hose seems a bit damaged. Since they did not have any in stock, running with the old one.

                  Regards,
                  Mithun

The duke battery is indeed Sonic SF FTZ09. May be later batches have Exide but my first batch Duke 200 has Sonic. I can confirm that because I am on the lookout for a replacement and am finding no stock in all the dealers I visited.
Btw Sonic is part of exide group, may be that's why the similarity in nomenclature, FTZ9 vs ETZ9

                        Hey All,

I should be getting my hands on the Green Ninja 250r '09 version soon, which has black rear panels with a green pillion seat on top. Consider me a nutcase for asking this, but I wanna know if any green owner in Bangalore is looking to exchange his green tail panels & black rear seat with my black rear panels & green rear seat???

Possible, u must have noticed the bolts under the pillion seats.. But of course with cutting, shaping n all. So unless you are so much in need, don't do that. Better teach your pillion how to hold you with their thighs and hold their hands on riders waist.

                                Hi guys
Few days my bike's battery had gone kaput. So, I was looking for some alternatives for the same and got to know that exide etz9 directly fits N250.
Got the new battery today and the bike didn't cranked up.
Is it the right battery that I have bought or exide etz9 bs is the right one? Are both the batteries same or there is some difference?
