      Hey Guys,

My first post in this thread. Need some info.

!) I have to replace the sprockets and chain for my bike. Have been considering some options other than stock. Need info on the RK Chains vs D.I.D Chains, especially if anyone have them installed. Also, leaning towards the X Ring rather than O Ring (even though its much more expensive).

      2) For Sprockets, pretty much set on JT. Any reviews or users?

      3) Leaning towards a 15 for the front, since I do a lot of touring

      Thanks

I had bought the OEM chain because i ddint have any option and had to get it fast as well.

I do have both the OEM sprockets and JT sprockets as well. I run a OEM 14 and JT 47 at the rear. Will soon be changing to a JT 13 and JT 47 for some quick madness. The quality of JT is good.

You could do a JT 41 at the rear instead of a 15 in front as well. Its always better to change the rear sprocket than the front sprocket.

Thanks for the reply Jakrap. I have someone travelling early september from abroad and would be getting these. Time hence is not a constraint.

13 - 47? Thats going to blast everything at the red light.

Will look into options of 15-45 and 14-42 and then decide. Using Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Speed, RPM, Chain & Sprockets Calculator Main reason is to have it run a little unhurriedly at highway speeds

              here you go..

Kawasaki Ninja 250R Brake Pads | eBay

I just got back from the service center they said the front pads are worn out and require replacement. I wanted to check them on my own before doing so.

Moreover , I might just go for performance pads when I change to steel braided brake lines next month. Or else I'll go for these if still available.

Today I noticed my engine oil light coming on.There was situation where in I had to break hard after which I noticed the light come on,stay for a few seconds and then switch off.I later inspected the watch glass to find that the the oil level was below the lower indication mark.So I decided to top up the oil rather than changing it because I've only run 4.5k on this oil(Motul 7100) which generally stays good for around 6k.
On topping up I was surprised to find that it consumed around 550ml of oil for the oil level to come up the higher indication mark.Is it normal that the engine is consuming so much oil?
Is it indicative of any anomaly in the engine?

                            Two questions come to mind
                            1. Is the Motul genuine?
                            2. Is there a leakage where you park the bike - after you come from a long ride?

P.S: I have never faced the issue.

                            Regards,

1.Yes I think its genuine, after inspecting the container,I have no reason to suspect otherwise.
2.I'm pretty sure that there were no leaks as well, because I would have detected them in the area where I park.
Today after topping up the oil,the light did not come on even under hard breaking .But is it normal that the engine has consumed 600ml of oil over a 5k kms period?
P.s I cant say I've been gentle on the throttle though!

I was just going through ninjette.org and saw something like your issue. Says some of the oil gets vapourised during long high rev journeys - and gets out via the air filter... I am not sure how plausible it is though.
