The lack of LE torque requires you to keep the bike in lower gears on the ghats. Yo have to go right down to the third gear to have enough torque at hand.

The Ninja also handled the bad roads really well. The rear setup is very stiff and you will feel every bump in the road.

The lights are fantastic. Better any other Indian bike by far, except *maybe* P-220. Need to test that out.

    Here are some pics,

Awesome pics and a tremendous atmopshere around as it looks from the pics. Yes, the bike doesnt get unsteady/unbalanced even on wet roads.

Any of you who have visited the US will have a good idea, i guess. Also mention brands, if you will. Thanks!!
You can get equally good riding gear here if not better (imported brands also). My suggestion is to get an exhaust since you will save a lot on shipping, duty, taxes, etc.

Superlife got himself (or rather for his ninja ) an M4 slip-on exhaust. I've seen the video's on you-tube and they sound mad. Get a slip-on if you cant get the full system down.

Yes yaseer go for exhaust (slipon) that is where you actually save money on shipping and duty.
and yes m4 sounds mad but the only issue is they are not very commonly vialble online your cousion has to find the nearest dealer, they have a good network all across US
          check this link
          M4 Performance Exhaust Systems

most gears are easily avialable now at reasonable peice

Dude i dont recollect seeing a video linky of your ninja with the M4 (i'd love to sample the sound at idling and when it's pulling away. Preferably recorded in an open space... sorry for so many requests).

Please do upload one and post the link here. I'll promise to give up my vices and save up for it.

Thanks for clarifying. I am guessing from your Avatar that your a 220 owner.

Dash cam: The problem here is the mount and not the cam - I found it was difficult to use a mount on clip-on bars since the cylindrical portion falls short to install commonly used camera mounts. I got the tiniest camera mount and I couldn't fit it the first time( I will try again this weekend). For the camera, buy a FlipVideo camera - very compact videocam with great quality of AV.

For helmet cams, spend some money and get a Vholdr or Oregon Scientific camera - prices range from $150-400.

Needless to say, none of the above is easily available in India - websites or pals visiting overseas are the only options for sourcing them.

                          • Been thinking about this for a while now...

Most of us fill in Shell Premium which of course costs a premium over the other 91 octane fuels sold by BP, HP, IOC etc. This is attributed to the quality of fuel sold by Shell.

Please share your thoughts and opinions on this...

As far as my knowledge goes, Premium fuel is actually regular 91 octane fuel with additives. Regular fuel is still 91 RON (octane).

Can we not fill regular fuel in the ninja or premium fuel and add an injector cleaning fluid which is available separately? I did this with my esteem and had no issues. Injector cleaning fluids are sold by Sonax and also locally by an oil company (guess it is BP) by the name Iftex SystemG.

This will ensure that the injectors dont get blocked and performance does not falter. Impurities are the main concern in regular fuels anyway. Cost of injector cleaner is not much and would work cheaper in the long run instead of running on Shell Premium. I havent mentioned octane boosters as they are irrelevant since we dont need higher octane fuel but cleaner fuel.

Edit - Or use fuel system cleaners once every few kms like once in a thousand kms or so.

                            Please comment.

Delhi PBK guys informed me that there is no need to put in any other fuel except normal. I am usually a BP customer for my cars. The first time i filled up the fuel tank, it was with normal petrol. After going through the Kawasaki Booklet, i found out that the recommended petrol is 91 RON. The normal fuel is 87- 89 RON and not 91, i have confirmed this from many petrol pumps. The extra premium is supposed to be 91 RON, but who's taking the gurantee for the same.

So i guess, u continue using the type of petrol you are filling up right now and do not shuffle b/w 87 and 91.

In Bangalore, regular unleaded fuel is 91 octane. Premium fuel is the same but with additives.

We used to get 93 octane but that's stopped as far as i know (Speed 93).
