This is surprising as I changed my factory fitted REAR disc pads @ 25000Kms. The FRONTdisc pads are good, even though those were changed @ 22000kms. My present reading is only 35000kms!!!

Shouldn't the front ones go first? Why was the disc plate damaged?

The present pads were all NISSIN from HH SVC, so I doubt there was any duplicate used. I need to pay 1300 for disc pads and 1800 for the disc plate it seems.

I am thinking of trying out a cheaper disc pad without changing the disc plate, just to see how it does. Any suggestions?

Going by the pics, the rotor disc has taken a beating and needs to be replaced or skillfully lathed. Either ways you will need to plonk in new sets of pads. Ensure you maintain your pads well in future like pressure hosing the pads often to displace sand particles as they get in easily.

My daily run of a measly 16 km has cast a spell on the ODO. It is simply not climbing at all.

So I did a quick home - airport - devanahalli - home run to cover the much needed 100 km run for 92k.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I got the brake pads replaced yesterday. According to the SVC personnel, disc plate can be used and doesn't needs to be replaced at this time.

Any thoughts on disc pads/plate maintenance. Is pressure washing it every few days more than sufficient?

Yes.
When washing the bike, just ensure you soap the disc rotor with shampoo and hose it well.

I am using Dunlop Monster (TL) 80/100-18.. the tire is pretty good when it comes to grip on tarmac be it wet/dry... haven't tried on gravel.. The tire seems to be going strong till now.. No punctures as well till date (Touch wood) and the best part is, it is TL

Go for Michelin M45. It boasts excellent road holding properties and great braking abilities even in wet. Cons are tyre noise is on higher side and somewhat low mileage of tyre.

Where do we get M45 ? As far I know Michelin's are not selling M45 anymore in India.

Got it for 1400 + 90 for fitting , And yes got the auto-vala to pay as he had hit me from the behind while standing at a red light ! Thank god the cops were standing right there otherwise it would have been a nightmare to get him to pay.

been riding without snorkel for almost a month now

I need a tiny little help thou, how to remove these grease stains or what ever they are from my bike

Some cotton, a small bottle of nail polish remover and a slightly wet rough cloth (jeans type - else >600 grit sandpaper).
