Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
First open the starter relay. Open the fuse. Clean the terminals of fuse on relay and clean the contacts.Originally posted by malang73 View PostNo worries bro

That is right. The self-starter motor is not spinning. Hence no way I can determine if I'm getting a spark or not. Is there any other way?
Then check if all is back to life. Also check the fuse under the seat.
Else contact me over whats app. Divya has my contact.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Recently bought a Duke 390 and it made me realize what a smooth and COOL bike the ZMR is..
Been riding ZMRs from 2011 (2nd from 2013) and I have crossed about 94000 kms in my ZMRs till date and it (one of the two) will remain as my touring machine forever
Now my queries,
1. I have been changing my sprocket for every 5000 - 8000kms in the 2nd bike (2013 Hero one). But its great and lasting more than double this in the older bike. Can engine braking be a reason? (because I ride this bike in traffic to work and the other bike mostly in weekends) Or is there something I need to check?
2. Something is wrong with the front of the bike. I thought air was less and yes it was a little low. And even now after filling Nitrogen, I feel like the bike is wobbling a little. What may be the cause for this?Pegasus - 2011* - Hero Honda Karizma ZMR

Voila!Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostHey, did you try push start?
Push-started the bike last night and it sprang to life.
But the display, the head lamp, indicators and the self-starter are still dead. Does that give us a clue to what may be the problem?
Been neck-deep in work so not able to spare time earlier to work on Z and implement your idea.

Some fuse is not connected properly or rusted terminals or rusted connectors.Originally posted by malang73 View PostVoila!

Issue isn't major but finding the source of cause is pita!

Faced a ditto problem 2 years back. Every assessment of relay showed no fault. But when I changed both the relay and fuse, the bike came to full life!Originally posted by malang73 View PostVoila!

But what has relay got to do with all other electricals like speedo, headlights, indicators ? [emoji780]Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostFaced a ditto problem 2 years back. Every assessment of relay showed no fault. But when I changed both the relay and fuse, the bike came to full life!

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
sounds to me like a relay issue.. change the relay.. The relay comes with the fuse so you don't have to worry about the fuse.. otherwise, change the fuse of the relay and check if it helps.. otherwise, you will need to change the relay and see..Originally posted by malang73 View PostVoila!

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I have already changed the 20A fuse in the relay to no avail. The old fuse was stuck- rusted in the relay socket and was it was a task to pull it out. As the fuse socket is a very tight place, I have not been able to clean out all the rust in it. I reckon that could be the cause of the problem.
Will use WD40 liberally and leave it overnight and see if I can clean out the rust.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Hi,
Landed into huge problem.
Few days back (last Monday) bike was not at all starting (self was cranking), while inspecting found that FI unit is not vibrating while the ignition Key was turned on. After couple of more ON-OFF of the ignition gave the FI unit life and bike started.
While going to office on last Friday FI light kept blinking for 5 times (after bike started rolling), then blinked continuously for few seconds and then it was steadily ON. Then I stopped at a point and then turn off the Ignition and started it again this time no FI light was blinking.
Yesterday evening while traveling back from my In-Laws house bike's ignition turned off (I was doing 50KMs/hr) and bike never came back to life again had to push the bike back to home for almost 2 KMs. While checking found that FI unit is not vibrating again while turning ON-OFF the ignition key.
Same happened to my friend's ZMR and had to replace the FI unit (covered under warranty).
Can anyone please help me what could have been wrong and how to get out of the position.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Possible reason, check for the Connections to the Fuel Pump.. Probably the connecting points need cleaning or need to be tightened...Originally posted by antan_shank View PostAny feedback??Splendor - 2k to 2006

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Mechanics visited my house yesterday and told the power relay is the culprit... No power supply from power relay to FI... After cleaning and banging it for couple times bike came back to life. He told power relay needs to changed and will also check different power relays and wiring when I bring the bike to showroom.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostPossible reason, check for the Connections to the Fuel Pump.. Waiting for the power relay to be found as it's not available in showroom.
