Zapper Y 100/90-18 is the stock tire that used to come with ZMA-R. I have had some frightful moments on wet roads.

Heard that Vyde life is short due the soft rubber...

Hello All ,
I own a ZMR old one first series, have completed around 30,000 KM. I was thinking about changing the sound.
What would be my options here.
My preference would be adding a K&N filter or the exhaust.
I am sure this point that came here would have come earlier however any basic info would be of lot of help.
Also I am from Mumbai,I stay at Vashi and work at Andheri so any preferences for a mechanic who can make these changes would also help.

Try removing the snorkel and ride for a change.
You will definitely like the sound.:-)

Advantage - you can get back to stock whenever you want.

Most of us here never bother about the performance of our bikes.. So it is unlikely that you will find someone who has done such mods on the precious ZMR.. We all would suggest/recommend you stay out of these so called performance mods else you will shorten the life span of your bike.. If you are looking for just the sound..then go ahead and remove the snorkel.. The bike will sound fabulous.. It won't harm your engine as well...

I would say its a waste to increase sound. I had removed snorkel on my extreme, and extreme is a air hungry bike with 28 mm carb.

The sound was loud during acceleration. Since my ride is on highways only. One ride and the sound tired me.

Put back the snorkel.

The black thick hose attached to the air filter box under the seat. Just open the seat and yank it out. It is initially glued with an adhesive but it has grooves to fit it right back in. You need not put an adhesive while putting it back in.

Edit - this is how it looks like (when removed).

A small cosmetic as well as functional makeover given to the bike.

I'd like to thank Shreeni0403 and Hornet owners for helping me out with this hot looking mod to the bike.
It was Shreeni's idea in the first place though!

Details:
Honda Hornet Rotor.
Price - Rs 965.

Yes, it IS a direct fit.

P.S - Ideally one must replace pads and rotor together. My pads were new, hence just replaced the rotor.

Just nearly missed death

If any of you remember, i had an accident few months ago which caused misaligned the bike(ZMR). I was riding perfectly from the past few months, during service i told the mechanic to align the bike, he ignored me.
Then i went to a mechanic and he asked 500 for fixing it :O I didn't say anything to him, asked around and the lowest price i got was 400 INR.
I decided to save up and then get the bike fixed, city riding felt like usual the bike didn't wobble or anything, even on highways with a pavilion at back, the bike didn't wobble(going 112-14)

Until today,
Was going on Highway and at 112 the bike started wobbling like a wild beast !! I was like f*** i'm dead. I reacted, at first i touched just a little(just a tiny bit) of the front brakes, and slowly pressed the back brakes, Once below 105 i was ok, damn was I about to die.

Today, I'm going to get some cash and get the bike aligned (whew) thank god nothing happened today.

I'm sharing this so that anyone with a misaligned tyre shouldn't ignore it if he's going on highway even for a short period of time.

Guys, i realised right now that i shouldn't even have touched the front brakes, should've just used the rear brakes..., what do you guys think
