Rear brakes are not meant to stop the bike (at least on tarred road). They only complement the front brakes and add stability.Originally posted by Harry99 View Post

So, Touching the front brakes was correct on my part ? Even when the front tyre was wobbling ?Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostRear brakes are not meant to stop the bike (at least on tarred road). They only complement the front brakes and add stability.

yes, I'm lucky to be alive. I can't even imagine what would've NOT happened if i had crashed (whew) Thank god for saving me
PS Yes i always use the front brakes when I'm travelling straight and only while turning i use the rear brakes. That's why i touched the front brakes as I'm used to that, but as the front tyre was wobbling i was thinking that it was a mistake to use it.

Everyone should have a look at this

Why did you do this man? Hero has way better quality parts than honda. You should not have changed it man.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostA small cosmetic as well as functional makeover given to the bike.
I'd like to thank Shreeni0403 and Hornet owners for helping me out with this hot looking mod to the bike.
It was Shreeni's idea in the first place though!

Details:
Honda Hornet Rotor.
Price - Rs 965.
Yes, it IS a direct fit.
P.S - Ideally one must replace pads and rotor together. My pads were new, hence just replaced the rotor.

Indeed. The stock rotor stayed for 91000+ km. Way too good. But I wanted to bring some bling to the ageing darling of mine. Spicing things a little.Originally posted by Bibhu View PostWhy did you do this man? Hero has way better quality parts than honda. You should not have changed it man.

Yes. See for yourself. You should have opted for a replacement part from hero. Now your mileage would go down too.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostIndeed. I think so too. It is heavier than the stock rotor.Originally posted by Bibhu View PostYes. See for yourself. You should have opted for a replacement part from hero. Now your mileage would go down too.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Yes. Unsprung weight and rolling resistance would increase. Hero calculated everything and gave that disc. Now you have upset the balance of the bike. You will have problems with crosswinds now too. Because the uneven edges of the honda rotor. Hero gave the disc keeping the beast zmr in mind. You screwed it up by installing substandard honda parts.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostI think so too. It is heavier than the stock rotor.

It pretty much sucked in crosswinds anyway!
I'll now buy carbon fibre parts and titanium bolts to counter the added weight and keep the readings within OE markers.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Remove saree guard and some tidbits, Remember every bit counts.
Any thing near battery or visor.
Visor assy and IC needs to be lightened . You've added weight to tyre, You need to get wheel balanced otherwise wobbles.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I was referring to just the added weight due to the new rotor. I have lost a few kilos but the forks don't know that. The carbon fiber front fender and titanium bolts will give it a feeling of carrying less weight.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostOr you could hit gym and save lotta money and weight [emoji14] JK

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Guys, lying down is supposed to stop the wobble but in my case it started the wobble. I don't get this....
Another thing, I don't like my front tyre, it's the stock Zapper FS the rear tyre is Zapper Q.
Should I get any replacement for front/rear tyre or are they perfect ?
PS, removing the snorkel gives no special changed in the sound produced by the bike. Tried it but no nothing :/ that's why I installed it back in. Am I missing anything ? But I tested the sound while the bike was at rest by reving it.
Thanks
