Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Thats awful.. Reminds me of what happened with my dad's merc.. rat bit most of the wires in the bonnet and the power steering oil pipe causing the power steering fluid to leak.. worst experience ever..Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostSplendor - 2k to 2006

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Sorry to hear this..... The ZMA does not have complicated electricals....you can also try to do a DIY...check the wiring under seat and tank, and where ever the Rats have chewed, just reconnect wires looking at the color code at both ends......but you need patience and time...Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostBad day today. Rats chewed my bike's electricals. I saw a few running out (2 rats ran out) when I cranked the bike. Running 5 kms with the same brought up a few pointers:
Just check the air filter, and the rubber hose attached to it.....

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Bro you get an anti-rat chalk. Ask in the shop. They will tel you. Just place it underneath your seat and fix it there with a tape. Not under your seat cavity. But on the under surface of the seat cover. I have done that and since then no rats. They had chewed the insurance papers which were in the box. Box cover is broken so it was easy for the rats.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostBad day today. Rats chewed my bike's electricals. I saw a few running out (2 rats ran out) when I cranked the bike. Running 5 kms with the same brought up a few pointers:
1. Brake lever when pressed activated the pilot lamps.
2. Horns weren't working.
3. Left indicator wasn't working.
4. Rear tail lamp wasn't working.
Finally, my bike got stranded in the least imaginable place. On top of Yeshwantpur flyover towards Orion Mall. It was maddening in the heavy traffic there.
The culprit was what I'd imagined. Fuse!
Replaced the busted fuse with the spare one and rode back home and visited my mech. He confirmed rat bite along the entire length of the electrical assembly. My bike is with him. Let's see how much it would set me back by. Any ideas on damage to my wallet?

I m doing MBA here 2nd year , colg is in chhattarpur.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostBuddy.. The stock tires are good and you can use them till they last.. I don't know why people complain about them
I was a happy user of the stock tires
now after I changed to Michelin.. I am actually missing the good grip in wet conditions of the stock ones.. so keep the tires stock and once they wear out.. change them..
and regarding the trips.. yeah.. you can join us if you have the passion as me and my pals are more into cross country.. and we had Bhutan planned which unfortunately had to be cancelled/postponed due to some issues in office as well as personal issues of one of my friends.. If you are interested in cross country trips.. then you are more than welcome to join us.. we do have sudden short trip plans to break the pressure from office.. I will let you know at that point of time and if you will be able to make it.. that would be fine..
where is your office?? I am located in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad.. shifted from Adchini nearly 2 years back.. and work in Noida...
So Can't join you guyz for cross country this year
But yes i alwz ready for these short trips but only on sundayz coz of lec on other dayz.

I think you should also get tyres bearing get checked for ny xtra play coz of wear & tear in the balls inside that.Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostI have planned to remove the chain cover untill the rear tyre issue get sorted out completely because touching of tyre to chain guard will damage the side walls of tyre....
I faced this issue in my CBZ nd bearing was the culprit.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Why don't you just get the Wheel Bearing checked mate?? I am sure that is the culprit.. your bike will feel better once you get them changed.. if you still insist on getting the chain cover removed.. its your call mateOriginally posted by veryhiphop View PostI have planned to remove the chain cover untill the rear tyre issue get sorted out completely because touching of tyre to chain guard will damage the side walls of tyre....
but get the bearings checked too.. it can cause some damage too...

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Thats fine.. but then, if you remove the chain cover, how will you know whether the issue is resolved or not?? Just a small thought that ran into my mind.. as you said the tire is rubbing against the chain cover.. if you remove it, how will you know if it is fixed or not?Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostI shall get the bearing checked...but till it get resolved i am planning to remove chain cover ...i do not want to remove it forever...just for few days..once all things get sorted out will put back the cover...Splendor - 2k to 2006

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
On thing i would like to ask...if an wheel bearing is faulty..does it effect the rear disc braking.....
actually from last 10 months or so...my rear disc make sound....SVC people clean it..it works fine for an couple of hours and sound came back after that...
SVC people saying to replace the disc plate....
I had visit the other local bike service center...they too get it cleaned by opening whole unit...but again the problem is same.....disc pads are in fine condition....
Is problem related with rear wheel bearing?

May be put it again when i go to SVC to get it checked...if i visit this weekend then shall not remove ...if not able to go SVC then may remove it....Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostThats fine.. but then, if you remove the chain cover, how will you know whether the issue is resolved or not?? Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
HI Frds,
I need again some good advice.
Currently i am having Yahama SZR (which is only 9 month old) , though i am never happy with the mileage part its hover around 40kmpl. So, I was thinking if somehow I will be getting mileage around 40kmpl.. why dont I will move to some bigger bike like pulsar 220 (not 200ns - as i dont like the shape i am big fan of semi fairing).
So, please advice. budget is around 1 lacs which may be extended only upto 1.10 lacs... I will be using this 80% for highway or weekend drive with my wife
as i am now having CNG fitted Car with me
Regarding my physic... i am 6.3" tall, weight around 97kgs
1) i like pulsar 220
2) ZMR
So , please put some lights on performance, availability of spare part or cost of ownership
Which bike is lighter on pocket..????? but does not compromise on performance.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Both are good in their own ways. P220 handles well in city but zmr does it well on the highway. Mileage figures of zmr on highway would be 45-50kmpl and in cities about 40-45kmpl. Owners of p220 will tell you its mileage. If highway rides are major then I guess you must go for zmr cause of its riding posture and engine design. Meaning not too aggressive as the pulsar but a mild yet powerful engine with low end torque. Both bikes suit your height. TD them and decide.Originally posted by jammbuster View PostHI Frds,

How is the condition of the disc?? it is possible that the disc needs to be replaced if the condition of it is not too good..Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostOn thing i would like to ask...if an wheel bearing is faulty..does it effect the rear disc braking.....

also the bearing can cause the brakes to be less effective..Splendor - 2k to 2006

The disc plate seems to be fine...not much scratches of disc pads.....The same thing i asked many times at SVC why disc plate need a change as they seems to be fine...but no proper answer...they always says...change disc plate....Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostHow is the condition of the disc?? it is possible that the disc needs to be replaced if the condition of it is not too good..
