I feel some strain like feeling in the transmission, some vibration kind of feeling. There are notice-able vibes in the handle bar now, foot pegs vibrate as much as they did before.
Also, the engine doesn't feel 100% smooth, may be more like 90%.

Initially, I thought it maybe a bent rim on the front wheel. Took it to MRF wheel alignment store. Nope! Got the rear rim checked too, that was fine as well.
Next, I suspected cone sets (don't ask me why, it just occurred). So, I did a basic test of leaving the handle bar completely at 65 kmph on the Outer Ring road. The bike traveled straight!

Next, I went to the chain and lubed it. Vibes reduced, but still persisted.
Now my question is, could the sprocket have worn out? But it has been only 13k kms on this set so far. I changed the first set at 16k kms. That was due to my negligence in the first 6-7k kms when I never lubed it, but this set has never seen a dry chain. Also, I cleaned it once with WD40/kerosene once every month to remove the muck and grime. It'd be so inhuman on the chain's part to die so easily.

Also, I guess I need to change the engine oil to get rid of that strain like feeling from the engine. But, it has been only 1400 kms on Rimula so far. Gear shifts are not as smooth as before. @psr sir, any clues?
Did you check the Air Pressure of the tires?

how about the suspension?? are the seals appearing alright?

Check the Engine oil level and condition. If it has darkened, change it. If the oil level is less, top it up.

Did you change the cone set?? if not get them checked.

    any loss in acceleration/speed?

the Life of replacement set of sprocket and chain is always questionable, and less than stock.....there are exceptions of course...
Park bike On main stand, rotate rear wheel and see if the chain goes up and down by more than 20mm...if it does then rear sprocket has wear....check also what is the present position of the axle nut position in the swing arm.....if it is half way in the chain wear mark, then your chain sprocket set is 60% worn...by careful adjustment and proper lube wth Axle grease, you can run for some more time..may be another 10 K kms....
Rimula is a Mineral oil and needs change at 1.5~2 K Kms...Check the oil's color...if it is very dark, then change it....Since you are planing on a long trip ,it is better to change it before the trip....

Thanks for the input Reneav and Raghavan sir.
Air pressure/fork seals/cone set are fine.

Will check the sprocket wear and drain the engine oil as suggested.

By any chance you are getting a clutch slippage Divya ? Bcoz that would result in high engine revving..

It might be sheer coincidence, but I too have got the vibrations back & they seem to be back with a bang.. I do have a feeling of clutch slippage in my bike, coz i find the engine revving to an extent (even if low) even when i am standing still with clutch fully applied... I dont think this is normal as i never used to find this.. Ideally the engine stops revving at full clutch even at the highest speed... but here am standing still, yet !!!

I have already blasted HMC guys yesterday & they would check my bike on monday..lets see..

                    My Bikes:

It would be a dream come true if HERO allows for upgrade for ZMR with EBR mods such as swing arm, fatter rear tyre, similar capacity tank albeit shorter to improve the riding position further, and a few tucks here and there.

I do seriously hope Mr. Munjal takes a note of this wish-list, and at the same time accommodate these modifications in the standard warranty.

no no...only what I heard the likeliest from an automotive analyst about a 250cc engine.

I assume from what HERO has done so far...playing it safe and going bold to the extent of experimenting along the borderline. Though we cannot underestimate Mr. Munjal, but it is unlikely that HERO will come up with a 400cc parallel twin in the first go, post the HERO HONDA era.

My interest lies exactly where I am concerned with my ZMR....if cross-fitting of parts to alter the design is allowed, with HERO still validating the warranty!!
