wow, thats great news sir. In the ZMR, how to do that? I know how to open the seat. And I can see a part which sucks in air. Now what must I do to remove the part? Are there screws or something?Originally posted by psr View PostHonestly YES......

It can be removed by separating the two portions of the rubber on either side. The glue had kinda cone off in mine.Originally posted by vishnurajanme View Postwow, thats great news sir. Psr sir- actually am least bothered with the sound. Its just that I wanna increase the air intake with no much harm. Again the filter which you told, is it washable?

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
No, that's not washable. You can use Maruti Wagon R's (MPFI version) air filter. Its white in color and a little bigger than our stock AF. You'd need to cut a portion of it to make it fit and then stick it using hot glue.Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostIt can be removed by separating the two portions of the rubber on either side. Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Yes the rubber snout which sticks out into the guarded intake area under the seat is the one that should be removed for increased sound...as it is in stock form the design allows enough air in till WOT...the mod i did was because of lack of availability of the stock air filter, and also found it to give better breathing due to it's larger area...
The Zen MPFi Air Filter is made with Paper pulp and so is not washable.like stock air filter it is use and throw, and costs 100~120 rupees...here is a pic., of the filter in my ZMA....Mr.Arun (acs1207) had done a better job than me and if you look through zma thread you can find the pics.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Gave my bike for service. They removed the filter and there was another membrane there stretched across the inlet hole. They said it comes with the filter. On removing the membrane thing they checked it by dusting and said not a bit of dust entered the engine and thats why they recommended simota and never to go for k&n or green or any other.
Unfortunately could not take any pic of it. Mech says since filter was blocked, the bike gave jerks when accelerating cause of shortage of air. But he says dust will not enter and am forced to believe cause of the membrane thing. Anyway while taking delivery ill check if the filter is cleaned. If not ill go for stock. Oil leakage he says was present before the filter was put and he'll rectify it. Shall get the bike morrow evening.

Buddy.. tell me one thing.. how often do you leave your bike for service??
it seems like you haven't let it for service for quite a long time...?
If the Oil leakage was present before fitting the filter.. then why didn't he let you know or why didn't he attempt to rectify it before??
it is common sense for mechanics to at least let you know what are the faults..
since we know somewhat about these stuff, we are able to ask them to check on it.. what will a layman do?? in the sense.. if a person doesn't know anything about these things.. he will tend to be loser at the end..
You should ask that mechanic why he didn't bother to inform you about the leakage and you should put up a complaint.. at the end.. if you didn't notice this.. what would have happened to your bike?? Think about it...Last edited by rreneav1987; 06-14-2013, 01:51 PM.Splendor - 2k to 2006

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Bro the last time I gave for service, he claimed to have fixed it. Had given it at 26k kms. Now I've completed 30k kms. Recently when I gave bike for fixing handle bearings plus fuel pump cleaning, that guy never uttered a word about leakage. Today I blasted him and the owner of the place. Mech was lik he expected me to give bike for service within a week or two, so he din tell. Still I blasted them for like fifteen minutes. He says he needs time til morrow eve to do a good service and that the owner wil personally see to it.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostBuddy.. tell me one thing.. how often do you leave your bike for service??

Btw, completed 30k kms but realised it after 8kms more!

Well... I don't know what he was doing assuming things.. and 4000 kms is quite too long mate.. always check for leakages... I always look at my bike's territory to see if any new leakage mark is found..
Mechanics will do anything to make you fool.. so beware of it.. at least whenever you get a chance to check/inspect your bike.. do it.. if too much of oil is leaking.. it can cause engine seize..Splendor - 2k to 2006
