Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
When you pour different weights of oil together, they DO NOT mix. They will separate out after you shut your engine off. This won't do well for your engine. Putting different BRANDS together of the same weight will not have ill effects on your engine, but usually once you pick a brand, stick with it.Originally posted by malang73 View PostGot a $5 head? Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
If your bike doesn't leak or consume oil, keep using it for 2000 km. It won't cause harm with 1L. Keep checking the oil levels at least once a week till the next refill or till you manage to find a new can of 7100 for top up.Originally posted by malang73 View PostI understand. Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Hello guys! Just returned from Jhanjheli, HP, after a 4-day ride on Z. It was my first long ride on it and I am impressed. Did 1200-odd kms and she didn't so much as fake a hiccup! The engine is super-smooth, the power delivery is spot-on, the brakes confident and the balance perfect. I like riding her indeed.
However, a couple of things which I request advise here:
1. The faring rattles on high rpms. Is it to be expected? I'm sure I have tightened all the screws but am i missing something? Would appreciate advise on how to minimise if not eliminate the rattling.
2. Mid way through the ride I noticed that when the bike rolled in neutral, there was a unusual sound like a rolling barrel! I initially thought it was the brakes scrapping mud on the disk. I cleaned the disks to no avail. I suspect the rear wheel bearing is the culprit. Can somebody advise how to check and see if the bearings are at fault?
3. Before the ride I had changed the stock headlamp bulb with a Philips 55/60 but didn't get a chance to check it. During the ride I noticed that the bulb, though bright, was splaying the light all over and the beam lost its sharpness. Could it be possible that I have not installed the bulb correctly as I did a DIY? Would appreciate advise on how to correctly install the headlight bulb.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Completes 48,000 KM as well as ZMR is now 6 years old....
Had a bike inspection at SVC month back.. mechanic told engine is smoking a little bit...engine parts replacement required....
Noticing issues from 8 months like...low pickup....acceleration drop...mileage drop....But I could not found any smoke coming.....yes sometimes in neutral acceleration black smoke does come out but not the white smoke...

Slowly and steadily reaching toward the year end goal. All is well so far.
Reached 88k while returning feom office, but the sun was harsh and I didn't get a decent shot. Here's the ODO at 88008 km.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Mayday!
Got the bike pressure-washed and rode it back home. In the evening rode it to the market too. But on my way back, the headlamp as well as the console lights went out, though the engine was still running. Stopped on the curb and wondered what had gone wrong. Switched of the engine and tried to restart but the bike just didn't respond. Not even the FI light is flashing. Had to drag it back home.
So I'm thinking if there was moisture in the circuits the bike would not have started in the first place. But I rode it back from the wash and then again rode it in the evening.
I seem to remember that the lights went out immediately after I had used the dipper. Could this be connected somehow?

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Remember, some parts are not supposed to wash using pressured water. Pls check with user manual for more info on this. And before staring, let the bike completely dry after washing.Originally posted by malang73 View PostMayday!
