Go for HID if you are willing to go for original ones. Good one will cost you 6-10k. However, keeping cost in mind and considering hardly any lighting differences, id suggest you to upgrade your current bulb, but don't buy hid.

I'd like to understand the logic behind arriving at the correct rpm to shift gears. I know most of us here recommend shifting at 4-4.5 krpm.

We know ZMR produces peak power at 7000 rpm and peak torque at 6000 rpm. Using these inputs can we calculate at what rpm should one change gears for best mileage/performance.

For best performance, change gears in the powerband, i.e. between 6000 and 700 RPM.
Best mileage is arrived at with hit and trial method. We found it around 4k RPM and above. Below 3k lugs the engine in 4th and 5th gears.

Clicked a pic with my mobile on my way home feom gym today morning.. dense fog.. the HID did a good job in helping me through the fog. But i feel there is a problem with the high beam and low beam.. it keeps flickering when i keep it on high beam or try to flash.. flickering between high and low beam..

Any idea what the problem might be?? I am sure it is with the HID kit and not with the bike switch gears..

Jammed pistons in the brake cylinder. Open and clean it with diesel. Wipe it dry, lube with a small dab of grease.

                            What the hell?!!

Is the disk setup frozen or something?
Btw I think your disk pads are shot. It might be time to change.

The Stopping power is amazing though. I changed them. And balgi, no those are not so well maintained calipers. Its dusty, and the poor camera quality adds to it.
One of them has worn out more than the other.

I changed the pads, braking is poor. How long will it take to run in??

                              Here are the old pads.

Usually 30-40 kms with medium to hard braking will do the job. Though 10-15kms with rough braking will also do it but can cause the pads and disk to wear out fast.
