Just my opinion and has nothing to do with the fact that I own a ZMR V1.

In fact I am happy that I luckily got hand's on the last stocks of ZMR V1 instead of waiting for the new one.

    (personal view/no offense)

^ the sides look trim and niceof the v2, our zmrs are bulky and the fairing is out of proportion. But I hate the front headlight assembly of the new zmr, our zmrs are miles ahead in that area.

I disagree that fairing is out of proportion. It adds to the big bike feel.

ZMR is 'Above All'. It was presented as a top of the line motorcycle during its time. That's why it looks and feels like a big bike.

Now we have CBR and Ninja which are 250cc bikes but look much smaller than ZMR. The reason for that is that these bikes are actually meant for entry level markets in USA and Europe. In fact if you read the brochure you will find them explaining how easy it is for newbies to ride their bikes due to their small profile and low height. 250 cc may be entry level there but in India 250 cc is a huge deal. So an Indian 250 cc should ideally look big and intimidating like the ZMR and not keep low profile like CBR/Ninja. The difference is obvious when you get to park your ZMR beside these small 250 cc bikes.

It certainly is not small, I never claimed it was. I like the side fairing of the new zmr better than ours. Just my opinion.

The fairing IS out of proportion. It's a fact. Not subjective. Facts cannot be subjective.
How i claim that its a fact?
Well, open your mind once and think. Does the front wheel match the bulky size of the fairing? Does the rear wheel width go with the profile of the bike? Atleast in the new one, they have given a wider rear tyre. But still, they have kept the front wheel pathetically slim. Whatever technical reasons maybe for that, it makes the bike look dis-proportionate. It is a fact right? That both the wheels of the older zmr are very slim as compared to the bike as a whole?
Coming to body, the tail ending, along with the thin rear wheel, makes it look more like a unicorn from the rear. Its not proportionate to the huge front.
Btw, a huge tail ending doesn't necessarily mean proportionate. It has to be catchy. Look at that of the r1.
Now don't tel me, am comparing thw two. Just giving you example as to how proportionate means and looks like..

Agreed ur each point. The each part of the bike is unique in style and size and does not gel together. And the tyres just spoil the look further. Even the new version also the tyre spoiled the look. The rear itself looks puny for the bike size. Should've been 140 & 100. But the new fairing is simple and elegant IMO. And its functional too. The rear is stretched beyond the rear wheel which looks little odd. The grab rail should end just before the rear wheel and the the tail should project . Neverthless the bike looks much better AMD proposition than v1. Maybe v2 is similar to my liking.

Not all aspects of the v2 are better than the v1 in the looks department.. IMO the side fairing is the only thing that is better. I like the front and rear of the previous zmr better than the v2

When it comes to the distance between fairing and front wheel mudguard, i love the old one. The new one has a lot of gap which looks wierd. Hope people have observed it.

The best part of V1 was the hayabusa style writing of ZMR. Huge and aggressive. Even my mom called it a standout. In V2 the ZMR writing is puny. Also it serms ZMA V2 can be converted to ZMR V2 by just adding 2 pieces of side fairings.

I think V1 has the best rear look. Far better than V2 or Unicorn. The LED assemby is stylish and blends beautifuly with the turn lights. I agree rear tire could have been wider. But the front tire is good enough. An even wider one would be difficult to navigate. But I see what you mean. The tires will seem puny when looked at straight. It seems you prefer a slimmer bike. But like I said, this is an 'Above All' bike and has to look big.

few of my friends have different opinion. some likes V1 and other V2. for me the V1 looks like bulky commuter mainly due to its ordinary rear whereas V2 looks little sporty. this is my humble perspective. but before V2, i liked V1 much and hence it grew as my all time favorite bike.

Last week while returning from Hogenakkal falls to Bangalore had a fall, I was at low speed and had to brake and had a wheel lock which resulted in fall.
Does the wheel lock happens to other ZMR riders?
As a result of fall, now the bike right side is having lot of scratches. Where can I get the ZMR stickers as I need to cover them up.
                            Kindly respond.. Thanks in advance

I personally have not faced this issue till now, but changing the stock tyre's might help (Our Seniors can shed better light in this regard).
Also check free movement of brake pads make sure the brake piston are not jammed (regular washing/lubrication of moving components in rear brake assembly).
It even depends how you brake (mixed ratio of front/rear brake usage).

You will have to order the sticker set from Hero SVC (would be a looong wait looking at Hero parts availability)
                              Or else
Here is a link you can order it here as well -

                              Hope it helps.

Applying only the front or only rear brakes will result in a lock on any bike. Practice braking! 70:30 front:rear is safe in most dry situations. Reverse the same for off road/gravel. Wet can be 50/50.
