    • sad to hear...

@satyajit-hopes there is no serious damage for your bike. And its happy to hear that you re also not hurt. Nothing to worry as you have a valid license and your bike is properly covered in insurance.
@fast ferocious- sad... Hope you got the best lesson that no man can give...never leant your bike to anyone. It may hurt your bike and if it happen so, the relation may also get hurt... Most of the people here can understand the feeling you have. We ll be upset to see there mishaps. But I think there is nothing to worry other than spares. Inform your svc first. They ll do the rest. No need of FIRs. If your friend is ready to settle the bills. in my opinion no need to take him for the procedures. Just tell them that you hit a dog and these all happened and produce you DL.Thats all. I think everything about the insurance conditions re printed in the overleaf of the insurance paper.

I was and am in a state of shock. He returned the bike to me few mins back and here are the snaps:

Now from what I've inspected, the engine and riding is normal .But damages are:

        1. Full right fairing. Upper and lower. But in the last pic you can see the gap i've circled. The bottom lining plastic of headlight is moved down. Don't know what it is called.

2.The black fibre around the speedo meter is broken and it is vibrating like hell.

        3. The rear panel got a good dark scratch.

        4. The rear brake lever is bent.

        5. The right handlebar is bent.

        6. The right handlebar end weight and front brake lever are scratched.

        7. Right front foot rest is here in my hand now.

        8. Right rear foot rest is damaged.

        9. Silencer cover is damaged.

        10. Small scratches here and there.

        Thats it I hope.

Please let me know the prices of these parts.

One more thing what about the insurance?? How do I claim it. FIR needed or not? I've read long back in the first impressions thread. But will have to go through manyyyy pages.

Note: This was the first time I lent my bike to someone.
Goodness me,he must have crashed it at around 100kmph......
heartening to see a bike in this condition.
& nothing happened to your friend??(jst concerned about)

Why do you want to quote your friend's Driving License for insurance cover? Do not you have proper valid DL?? Dont tell them your friend is driving. Tell them you are driving (only if you have a valid DL).
Hey Ravi, yes it does hurt me a lot whenever I think of this. Beleive me I didn't inspect the bike after I've clicked the pics today morning. I Simply can't. And thanks for your valuable advice. I'll tell them I was riding. And of course, I have a valid driving license.

Thanks praveen. Yes, learnt a very valuable lesson. As I mentioned before, i never give my bike to anyone. This was a mistake from my side, first of its kind and here I'm reaping the results. I'll head to the SVC tomorrow morning. I hope it isn't close on Sunday. And no instructions are provided on the insurance paper overleaf. I've attached a copy you can see it.

Only thing I want now is my bike back to normal. It shouldn't get any 'side-effects' of the accident after being repaired.

According to him he was around 60. And he didn't crash the bike into something. It was a fall at that speed onto the divider. And the condition of the bike supports this. Entire right side is gone and not even a scratch on the left side. And my friend had a miraculous escape from being run over a bus. He had bruises all over his right hand and leg. I didn't say him anything harsh because he wasn't able to walk properly and it was completely my fault.(of giving the bike).

          • @fast- I dont see any "ND Cover" type or anything, I actually dont understand because its alot different from my insurance. but to tell you one thing, if karizma R has coverage of fiber im pretty sure the ZMR has it also because the bike is mostly fiber lol.. but then i guess it all depends on the insurance company???? Ill upload my paperwork and show you how mine is. and my insurance was 1872.00 RS.

            This is how mine is:
            Basic Premium- 1132.00 RS
            ND Cover: 215.00 RS
            Total Coverage Cost: 1872.00 RS

Where it says "Extras" is where ND Cover should be but i dont see it in yours. I guess you'l have to check with the SVC....

              Ok... I'll check it out.

I just took the bike out for testing the forks. When I left the handlebars at around 30kmph the bike went straight and didn't move in either directions. But the handlebars are bent to the right side. Dont know whether they can be realigned or have to be replaced.

Yesterday while returning home from office around 7:45 PM had a terrible accident.

A man around 55 years cycled from a bylane straight into the middle of the road. I could not presume that and hit him bang on.

The man fell down and was hurt badly. Felt sorry for him. My bike and myself are absolutely lucky to be saved. God saved me.

The accident was deadly terrible but everyone was somehow managed to survive. I was riding @ 60kmph-60kmph, even applied BRAKES but everything just happened in a moment. Fell on the right side.

Going to service centre now to check up things.

Hey man sorry reg the accident, happy that you and the bike are fine.. let us know the update of the bike after you visit the service.. missed your post last time I am online

Hey. Day before yesterday it was a holiday, yesterday was sunday so I'm leaving for the SVC now. Decided to give the bike from where I bought it. Last time I made good hullabaloo there (when I went to get the indicator replaced) with the help of higher authorities. Now they know me well and will handle the bike with more care.

                  Thx.

                  • Just back from SVC. A couple of guys are on leave who specialize in ZMR. Manager asked me to bring the bike tomorrow. Tomorrow they'll make a claim to the insurance company. The insurance company surveyor will come and they'll call me it seems. He'll inspect the bike and will say which parts need to be changed and which parts need just touch up. Overall, the bike will have to stay in the SVC for atleast a week it seems. damn!.

Anyone who has claimed insurance on their bikes can you please specify the criterion on which the surveyor selects the parts to be changed?

It Depends on your luck, when i had my bike survey'd my middle left side panel had a scratch "-----" that big and i got the whole panel replaced because of that scratch. The guy at the SVC was saying that who ever inspected my bike was not strict and thats why most of my stuff was replaced including stuff that has minor scratches, i.e. my sidelight also......

                        Rakesh,
I am fine along with my Bike. SVC checked it and everything is OK.
Only scratches. Break pedal got bent, has been straightened.

                        Fast_ferocious,
Everything depends on the co-operation of SVC.
In my SVC a crashed Yellow ZMR had a bill of Rs 39,700/-
The person paid around Rs 5,000/-

Meanwhile the break pads available at my centre has been uploaded. Cost is Rs 2233/-

                        These are original HONDA Nissin.

@satyajittrc and fastferocious: Hope everything ll be fine soon.

As you all know my bike was resting in my garage for the last 21 days. I took it out yesterday and rode 150 kms. Fairing is not making heavy sounds except at the time it fell in some pothole or crossing off roads. The broken fairings is not easily noticeable when we ride. I went for a 40 kms on the bike today for attending a family function. Hope I ll get spares atleast by this week. Otherwise, I ll have to go for a worse game.

                          • Today I made a claim for my insurance. The SVC guy inspected my bike and made a rough estimate of 19000/-. Yes 19K !! But I think front wheel doesn't needs to be changed that will reduce the price by 4500/-. Here I'm attaching the estimate copy.

The actual estimate will be known when the insurance company surveyor surveys the bike. When I registered my claim on the toll free number, they said I'll be contacted within 24 working hours. The SVC manager gave me an estimate time of 1 week. The bike is to be left there till then .

@praveenmemala: Nice Ride and nice shots. In the second pic your bike's undercowl is missing. Why is it taking so long for your parts to come. Ask the manager to order them in an Emergency order. It took me 2 days to get my indicator assembly after it was ordered in emergency. Even the parts which now have to be replaced in my bike will take 2 days to be delivered after the insurance company surveyor completes the inspection.
