  • Good Morning friends. Woke up today an hour back and was excited about the festive mood today. But got a call from my friend who was having my bike for the last night. He crashed on it. I was and am in a state of shock. He returned the bike to me few mins back and here are the snaps:

Now from what I've inspected, the engine and riding is normal .But damages are:

    1. Full right fairing. Upper and lower. But in the last pic you can see the gap i've circled. The bottom lining plastic of headlight is moved down. Don't know what it is called.

2.The black fibre around the speedo meter is broken and it is vibrating like hell.

    3. The rear panel got a good dark scratch.

    4. The rear brake lever is bent.

    5. The right handlebar is bent.

    6. The right handlebar end weight and front brake lever are scratched.

    7. Right front foot rest is here in my hand now.

    8. Right rear foot rest is damaged.

    9. Silencer cover is damaged.

    10. Small scratches here and there.

    Thats it I hope.

Please let me know the prices of these parts.

One more thing what about the insurance?? How do I claim it. FIR needed or not? I've read long back in the first impressions thread. But will have to go through manyyyy pages.

Note: This was the first time I lent my bike to someone.

        • Call the insurance company and inform them about the mishap. In any case, do NOT ride the bike. Get the bikr towed to the A.S.S and get your vehicle assessed by the surveyor. Usually you'll have to pay 50% of the value of the plastic parts and a small claim charge and you'll be refunded the full amount for labour and any metallic parts. I don't know about your insurance details, if it's not cashless you'll have to pay the full amount upfront and get it refunded afterwards.

          Hope this helps.

Im not sure which insurance company you guys get but when i got my Karizma-R last month, i got I.C.I.C.I LOMBARD and they cover 100% of everything including metallic, fiber, plastic. Only they dont cover rubber and in all i had to pay 100 RS. and my damage total came out to be 10,000 RS.

Also, on your insurance paper, it should say "ND Cover" check and see if that amount is paid, if so, your fiber should be included 100%. Srry to hear bout your mishap, i finally got my R fixed up 100%.

                        • Last night after some hurried festive shopping with my friend I came back home in his car and he kept the bike as he had some work. It was decided he would return today early morning. On his way to my place, an autorikshaw beside him suddenly moved right, where my friend was riding at around 50-60kmph. He was pushed to the right, unfortunately there was the road divider which he rammed into. Bike felt and scratched along the divider, my friend fell on the other side of the divider and just escaped from being under a bus. He got his leg fractured though.

That was one of the worst mistakes I've ever made. Now I will never give my bike to people on whose riding skills I trust.

Yes, he will pay the costs. Even I never give my bike to any of my friends. Most of them never got a chance to ride it even for a short distance. But yesterday, it was really the first time I let it stay away from me. I've not seen the bike after taking the pics. I dont want to see rather.

                              • @fast_ferocious, that's a bad crash and it hurts a lot. Accidents do happen; take it easy. Everything will be rectified and you will forget when you ride it again. Most importantly, you will learn certain valuable things in life.

Why do you want to quote your friend's Driving License for insurance cover? Do not you have proper valid DL?? Dont tell them your friend is driving. Tell them you are driving (only if you have a valid DL).
