I'm not sure on this. But there are no alternatives AFAIK and you should get the new one.

Still searching the correct plugs online. But any NGK reseller should be able to get you in Chennai as well.

BTW, the importance of riding gear. It would have been my arm otherwise.

No.. that isn't my BP.. This is my friend's ZMR.. this is his first time highway experience and had he not worn the Knee guards and Elbow Guards, he would have had a broken elbow and knee.. oh yes.. not to forget.. Gloves.. His palm survived thanks to the Gloves he was wearing..

We were at a speed of 40 kmph on the mountains.. heading back to Delhi.. He suddenly stops me saying he has to drop a mail to his office about his leave.. We stop on the side and this idiot shouts saying F***.. I lost my phone.. and he searches again and shouts even louder F***, I lost my F*****G phone.. then we turned back to look for it.. we went upto 5 kms with hard luck.. Then I got an idea to log into his gmail account and find out where his device is.. we found it somewhere after SunderNagar which is some 22 kms from where we were at that moment.. meanwhile I asked him to dial his number and finally after 10 tries, someone picks up the phone and we had to go back almost 25 kms towards Manali and with Good luck in our hands, we found his mobile.. Xperia Z1.. the guy who found it was a Mechanic and he handed the phone to a guy who knows to operate Touch Mobiles as the Mechanic didn't know how to answer the call..

When we were on our way back.. we slowed down as there was mud all over.. I let him lead and on the turning I see him fall down for no reason.. I applied brakes to stop from running over him and my bike skids but somehow I managed to balance and parked the bike to pick him up..

                The damages were as below

                1. left side lower cowl broken..
                2. left cowl completely scratched..
                3. Clutch lever bent
                4. Gear shift bent
                5. Left front foot peg broken (I removed the rear foot peg from his bike and fixed it so that he can manage to ride to an extent which is better than riding without a footpeg)
                6. scratched left RVM.
                7. handlebar bent

Damages that could have been serious.. He was wearing proper knee guards, elbow guards and gloves (I asked him to get the guards just before the ride)

                1. a small rock could have damaged his left knee which was prevented thanks to the Knee guards
                2. his left ankle saved thanks to the ankle high shoes he was wearing
                3. Left Elbow saved thanks to the elbow guards
                4. both his left and right palm saved thanks to the gloves he was wearing.

Phew.. Before this he fell on snow twice losing control.. At that time I wasn't worried or tensed as there wasn't much damage to him or his bike.. but on the tarmac, I was scared like shit till I came to know he was fine after picking him and his bike up

he is perfectly fine thanks to the gears.. Not really sure.. after crossing the muddy area, there was some kinda slime on the road along with mud.. my bike too skidded there but I managed to balance it without dropping the bike.. unfortunately, he couldn't..

By the way.. Someone in Chandigarh broke my Right side RVM which was in the safest position possible.. They broke it purposely.. I had to ride more than 1100 kms without a right side RVM.. Worst experience ever in my life.. I can never ride without RVMs

Usually no, on (crowded) public roads. But then you don't find a race track up in the Himalayas. You can put a disclaimer stating the precaution related stuff. Lets see, if members feel it should be removed, I'll do so, else it would stay!

After a long after-thought, NO! Please don't post such pics on the forum if taken outside Kari/MMSC/BIC.

                                Hi all,

I stay in Bangalore and own a 2010 zmr. It was great until some time ago.
Nowadays I feel there is a loss in power as it struggles to touch 115kmph, previously it used to cruise at 130plus easily.
I have had 3 falls with this bike all amounting to aesthetic damage costing me a bomb.

I suspect engine wear as this has been used strenuously on the highways, in fact limited to highways. It has recently reached 23k on odo. I use this only for touring. I have had miserable experiences at ASC now don't know how to get it done, sure wish I could DIY service it like I do to all my other bikes. The bike has a FI pump a system which needs calibration which I guess only the stealer ships equipped with. They just don't do much, jus charge a minimal fee of 360INR don't replace periodic parts such as plug and filter, saying stupid things, jus not satisfied. I have a list of miseries here, hope you can guide me..

                                1. Chain kind of hoops and can be felt when riding and is much visible and felt when clutch is held. Slack adjustment at ASC not helping, sprocket n chain wear not issue here, don't know where the disconnect is..could it be the gearbox or clutch? Pardon my noobness.

                                2. Bike does not cross 115kmph, it struggles here, is it the shitty tune up by ASC , FI not being serviced.?

                                3. Spark plug, still continuing with stock plug, the ASC said it's usually 12k but my particular plug seems to be good for another 12k. Is this right?

                                4. Air filter not changed, same as above, jus compressed air cleaning is fine, that's what the ASC supervisor said, they don't even do that I'm sure of that.

                                5. Engine oil, I DIY change it at every 4000kms(alternate service) and top up ever 2000kms. I used motul semisynthetic, 15w50 found it great, smooth gear shifts but not good for 4000k. They jus blacken out sooner,So later shifted to stock oil, hero Honda 10w 30.
The gear shifts are now so notchy, I'm not sure of this as it could be due to the fact that the oil is due for change in 2000kms or maybe because the oil is too old, it's been in since last year, is this a problem? I go by Kms done not months as my usage is very rare.

                                6. Visor vibrates at low speeds, beading rubbers have gone kaput hence changed, but still problem exists, any other way to dampen?

Fairing vibes not something to worry about, but I'm sure it can worsen.

                                7. Oil leaking on main stand, I suspect worn out gaskets, I'm so lost here as its one complicated bike and needs all the plastics taken off before opening up cases. Is this normal for a 2010 zmr, or is it due to my past mishaps.

Now, what I have done so far on my own....

I have stocked up on sprocket kit, plug, air cleaner, handle bar grips, etc . Will procure more stuff like packing etc.

I have all tools needed to take it apart at my place, I'm a DIY person.

Before removing all the plastics, I felt the need of discussing this with a seasoned ZMRians so here's my tale of misery. Kindly revert with all information to help me get the lost mojo on my ZMR.
