LoL.. I am good at that and I have done many purchases online but the fact is, the RVMs listed on ebay cost a bomb shell I prefer to spend 600 and get both mirrors changed than spend 3000 I am at a crisis at the moment

I have infact completed 3000 kms with Gulf in a span of one month Oil is perfect and I would recommend it to any ZMR owner
Well, I'm not sure of this but isn't it not a rule of thumb to stick to the oil grade recommended by manufacturer, I had been using 15w50 semi synth ester by motul for more than 8k Kms and found it good initially especially during gear shifts for the first 500kms but gradually the oil seemed to deteriorate and lost its viscosity at 1400kms which I always found strange as these SS oils were meant for longer drain intervals. Finally I decided to get back to stock HH oil 10w30 mineral oil JASOMA and SAE tide water standards and will change at every 1800-2000kms. Experts feel free to input your thoughts....

which oil are you using? Grade of the synthetic oil please?

never mix different grade oils in your bike.. how much oil was reduced?? can you get a pic of the under belly of your bike's engine??

Also, post a pic of your drain bolt.
Brothers.. I changed to full synthetic oil at 10800 kms. Its motul 7100 10w40. I used 10w30 stock hero oil to top up as I had only that at home and I got paranoid when I found out the oil level reduced below the min level.. I had filled it Upto the mid of min and max level..

The drain bolt is a new one. I bought the drain bolt and the oil filter.

Anyways I'll upload the pics later, I'm outside now.. :/

Originally, all the Hero Honda bikes used to use Oil Grade of 20W40.. I remember when I used to get the Engine Oil changed for my old 2003 Karizma and Splendor, they used to give 20W40 oil grade in Hero.. I cannot use 10W30 for my bike at the moment as oil seal and piston rings have become weak and I don't have money to get that fixed at the moment. I want to save 15000/- before I open up the head to get the piston rings and oil seals changed. so that in case I have to get the cylinder kit changed, I won't be stuck without a bike..

Is the oil level below minimum after a rest of minimum 30 minutes in main stand or immediately after parking the bike in main stand after a short ride or after starting the bike for few seconds..?? have you been changing the Engine Oil on time? is there any leakage of oil on the floor where the bike is parked? or is it the bike is eating up oil? Is there any sign of smoke from the exhaust? can you red line the bike and see if there is any smoke visible from the exhaust? Please check this and come back with pics as requested.

The oil is below the minimum level right after I switch off the bike, parked in the side stand.

Yes, I've been changing the oil at regular intervals religiously.
This problem has cropped up only after changing to full synthetic oil.

Earlier before using the o ring, there used to be like 5 drops every time I park the bike after a ride. But after using the o ring, the oil just leaks and if you touch the o ring there are few drops present, but it doesn't drop on the floor..

I can redline the bike with ease, and there is no visible smoke from the exhaust..

Ok, so it is time for you to change your engine oil and see use mineral oil for some time.. I suggest you go for Gulf Pride 4T 20W40 or Hero Engine Oil.. they both will cost you almost the same..

              1. Never check the oil level when the bike rests on side stand. Reason, all the oil in the engine goes to left side of the engine. where as the dip stick is located on the right side..
              2. Never check the oil level immediately after you park your bike after start.. give it some 30 minutes time for the oil to settle down.. so that the dip stick will give you a proper level..
              3. make sure the bike is parked in main stand and make sure the level is even. I use an app called Jack of tools to check the level of the bike after which I check the oil level..

Can we check the engine oil level early in the morning without starting the bike?

My clock and Tripmeters are resetting nearly every time I turn on the key after few hours. Please suggest what could be wrong. Is it time to change battery?

Yes. Provided you leave the bike in main stand over the night.. that 30 minutes stuff was to let the oil settle down to get a proper reading.

Yes you can check the oil in the morning without starting it.
The battery may not be at fault if all else works well. Check instead the meter for any loose connection. Also check fuses and wiring.

                                1. Check all wires and joints to rule out loose connections.
                                2. Put a new battery to actually determine if the old one is dead.
Applicable only if you have a multimeter handy.
                                3. Check if the potential across the terminals without the bike switched on (I mean, ignition ON, starter OFF) is greater than 12V or not. If not, change battery.
                                Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
