I think he meant to ask if they will do free service without the manual..
vinodksf.. I don't think they will accept it buddy.. try and speak with them and convince them saying you lost it.. if you have a good rapport with the service manager, he will take into consideration..

Ah I see now.
The details of the bike will be in their system. In that case all he needs to do is have a talk with the svc manager and mail the correct department at Hero to get a few free service coupons and paid service coupons depending on how many services he has left.
This happened to a friend of mine and I followed up with him about it. I could help but it was 2003 then and it was still Hero Honda.

Guys, I am going to visit the nearby ASC to get the battery checked and replaced if necessary.

Earlier the problem was just with the tripmeters and clock getting reset.
But now I am seeing a 2 second delay in the dials getting illuminated when I try on the key. The noise that comes when you turn on the key is there, but tachometer movement is happening later and not in sync with the noise. The RHS screw seems stuck so I'm not able to open and check the terminals.

Coming to the battery, I am planning to stick with stock. I hope it is available. Only mod in the bike is ONB. Please provide recommendations on the battery model.

I guess the foot rest didnt cost as much before.. I spent only ~120 for the set.. i have attached my bill when I fixed my bike after I met with an accident last year (1 year exactly as of tomorrow)

Hope the bill will help few of us here with the cost of fairing and other accessories

for more info.. i am quoting the below post of mine

Originally posted by rreneav1987 View Post

By the way.. Got my Black Pearl fixed and changed the following parts

1. Right upper cowl
2. Left Upper cowl,
3. front cowl (red color cos i wanted it to be in Red)
4. Visor (windshield)
5. headlight assembly (the other one broke completely at the rear side of the assembly - where the front cowl and number plate gets fitted to.
6. silencer cover
7. Gear Lever
8. left foot rest
9. left indicator
10. weight bolt was broken and stuck in the handle bar, so that rod was replaced.
11. few missing screws and bolts.

total cost Rs. 8237.40/-

Didn't get the Front Fender in Black so left it as such for now. i will change it next month after my salary is credited or I might leave it as such for now and get it fixed next year before the monsoon..

Damn.. I am out of money now

Got all the parts in a single Service Center in Dilshad Garden, R.K Automobiles. they have lots of stock. Had I known this, I would have come here to get the silencer cover and I wouldn't have met with that stupid accident :'(

I haven't clicked any pics of my bike after fixing it except one while fixing it and now my max speed goes till 50 kmph in city.. not that I am scared.. I just don't want my black pearl to get hurt again..

Got my mom to do some prayers and ran over the lemons (rituals you see)

the bike is as good as new now without any vibrations.. feels good but all this came after spending 8237.40

Twist the mirror in the clockwise direction to tighten it. Worked for me.. eventually that too didnt work for me after a couple of times.. so i used Fewi kwik..

One of the signature issues of our ZMRs this.
Hold the RVM with your left hand and tighten the Allen bolt using an Allen key using your right hand, and at the same time pushing the RVM in the anti clock wise direction with your left hand. This works for sure, but be sure to check the Allen bolt and the washers in between for any damage.

Happened exactly 1 year ago.. the day after Diwali Rickshaw coming on the wrong side on the right hand side.. that too on a curve.. riding at 70 kmph and on seeing the guy ahead of me, I hard braked.. managed to slow down the bike to 30 kmph before I crashed.. I was hurt only on my left ankle but my Black Pearl right side fairing gave up as the right side hit the rickshaw badly and the bike fell on the left side.. I felt like breaking that guy's hands and legs.. but I just couldn't execute as I had my bike to worry about than breaking him into pieces..

Ok.. Now I am confused.. I am really not sure if he is talking about the mirror rod which is held by a allen key.. I thought he is talking about the mirror itself.. If it is the mirror itself which is loose, then rotate the mirror to the clockwise direction to tighten it

if he is talking about the mirror rod, then the allen key
