No I have not. I'll probably replace the cone set in my next service.. Rreneav bro suggested that it might be due to low tyre pressure. But it still wobbles even after getting the right pressure filled.. Still unable to identify the cause.. So pissing off..[emoji17]

What khat khat sound are you referring to. 6 months back a mechanic showed me that my handlebars were not smooth in their turn i.e. when on centre stand, they didn't turn freely. He did something with the central handlebar nut, loosening it and hitting repeatedly below the centre nut (aiming with screw driver and hitting with a plier), and tightening it again. The handlebar was then freely turning. But after that, when I front brake a bit hard, occasionally a khat khat sound is heard from the front handlebars. Is it something to bother about?

Bike front slaps the tank when I do so at 67-60 kmph. I am more inclined towards the tyre issue now. Is there any way we can test the tyre without replacing?

Sounds uncharacteristic of HH SVC guys.. you must be really lucky

Yep your tees are loose now thanks to your hammer happy mechanic bro. Get it tightened before you have to change cone-set. But that khat khat sound would happen anyway as the bike is ridden over bad roads. Its common.

to my knowledge, I have worked out a few things to find tank slapping?

        1. fill the air pressure as per the manufacturer recommendations, ride the bike and ask ur freinds to see the bike front as u approach them. tank slap occurs in a opposite way. if the right side of the tyre is uneven, the slapping would be towards left and vice versa, when the handle bar starts slapping the tank, the tyre would wobble in the oppositve way. this should be visible if observed as you approach them.

        2. next thing put the bike in center stand, rotate the wheel. this way is more difficult as u said the wheel wobbles only around 60-67.

        3. physical observation by comparing the thread pattern on both sides.

this issue can occur at any time. my pals new apache rtr 180 has the same issue just after 10 days of buying . the tank slap started as he rode at high speed on a broken road with scattered pebbles.

this is caused when the bike runs over pebbles or a stone and the tyre pattern gets eneven. loose t cone or bent handle or fork may not cause this as suspension should not be a contributor on a good roads.

you can get a old tyre from a road side tyre shop or a from a another zma or you can replace the tyre if it's above 20k kms. before trying out the cone sets or tightening the tee, i would recommend you to check tyres. how many kms the tyres has done?

Get the cone set tightened bro.. has your been getting wet often?? Oops.. not in the sense you are thinking.. I meant in rain or during wash

does your suspension feel like it is hard when you apply front brake? I feel the cone set is at fault here.. might be rusted.. I got mine replaced at 24,000 kms.. it cost me 350 + 100 in the ASC.. this was back in 2013.. now I have completed 20000 with the replaced cone set and I feel it requires replacement.. I will get it done once after I get back from Chennai after my marriage...

 disgusting rreneav strikes again -_- yes, the bike's been getting wet often, almost every day. There's no provision for a closed parking, I keep the bike under a tree.. :/

Suspension feels normal, not very stiff not very soft.. Only in potholes its very hard which is normal.

Before replacing, did you have similar problems?? Or was it just a timely replacement which you did?

              lol

Well, to be frank. Before replacing the Cone Set, I felt the bike was normal.. I was thinking why to replace it when the bike already feels perfect.. but once I replaced it, the bike felt too good to ride.. too smooth, the handle bar felt like power steering and the brakes felt better.. much better because the suspension was not hard (felt the real difference after the replacement) and that khat khat sound stopped..

I bought the o ring and fixed it with the drain bolt.. Still the leakage is not arrested. I had to top up the oil as the synthetic oil had leaked.. Topped up with hero oil as there was no other alternative then.. What to do? 😕

buddy, did you inspect the Drain bolt for any damage??

This was the condition of my drain bolt which caused oil leakage..

This happened because the so called mechanics aka fools hammered this poor bolt with so much of pressure.. how much can this little piece of aluminium handle??

which oil are you using? Grade of the synthetic oil please?

never mix different grade oils in your bike.. how much oil was reduced?? can you get a pic of the under belly of your bike's engine??

Automotive legends say that FS oils eat up seals and O rings. But yours is a new(er) vehicle in terms of mileage.
Post few pics after removing the fairing. Want to see the entire engine bay/area/whatever!
Also, post a pic of your drain bolt.

Hehehe.. very true.. Thats why I moved to Mineral Oil from Semi Synthetic

Using Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40 and the oil did wonders for my bike.. keeping the engine cool and vib free.. in-fact found it better than the AX7 which I was using for more than 6000 kms.. I have infact completed 3000 kms with Gulf in a span of one month Oil is perfect and I would recommend it to any ZMR owner

Why not try eBay man? They have most everything. Try both India and UK/US sites. Lots off cool stuff there.
