Yes same use to happen with vertigo as well... also IIRC many here during the initial days of ZMR were using Sirac

ceat vertigo sports had very minimal fish tailing...it stays in line even while skidding but sucks on wet tar roads and cornering

And is enough to give the rider a heart attack! Anyone who is/are using the tyres mentioned could please share their short review on the same.
Like you, I've suffered with the MRF Y's for a bit. The behaviour of the Ceat Zooms has been very good so far. I am able to lean further on them, and they are a mediumish compound - the ish is because I feel they are someway between medium and hard, based on their behaviour.
I've had a couple of minor skids with the Zoom F and R as well, under hard braking, but the bike was more controllable, compared to the way it would instantly lose line when the Zapper Y was used. The advantage is that they were not fishtailing when I tried them out in the rains. They're not an outstanding set of tyres like say the M45 that everyone has praised no end, but for the price, they're very good indeed.

Would point you to my earlier posts here.

I have the Sirac 120/90 lying at my home. This one my friend bought initially and ran for 5k kms. I took this tire when he was selling his bike and used it for 10k kms. My friend used this tire without cutting or removing the chain guard, and the tire edges touched the chain guard and worn off and became free. I was able to use this tire without any mod to the chain guard because of this.

          Hello everyone
I'm using my zmr with 120/80-18 profile psd from 7 months(~ 5k kms )...... Had to do a bit of alteration on the chain guard and it's worth
Never had any issues even on hard breaking and it's the best while cornering
Recently went on a short ride from blore to mysore and achieved mileage of ~51 kmpl..... Avg speed - 80-100 kmpl
This weekend I'll be going for a long ride for the first time with a frnd
          The route says
Bangalore - Sirsi - honnavar - jog falls - Bangalore

You cut out a portion of the chain guard right? (Where the wheel comes close to it)
That's what we're discussing here. Few people have somehow managed to fit the 120 section tire without touching anything.

What about pickup and mileage difference with 120/80 tires compared to 100/90

120 section tires are wider and heavier (of course) than stock tires. Hence, expect a mild dip in
                1. Acceleration,
                2. Top speed (maybe),
                3. Mileage,
                4. Sprocket life.

Time for a swing-arm overhaul for my bike. Hard-braking causes lateral movement of rear wheel (slightly). I could feel the play when wheel is moved sideways (bike on center stand).

Has anyone changed swing arm bushes? I heard the swing-arm bushes are expensive for Karizma. Anyone knows the correct price?

Ravi , is it for the ZMR or ur ZMA ? The Zma ones cost around 600 bucks for one, so 1200 per set, inclusive of bushes dust cap and collar. The Pulsar Classic's Swing arm bushes are direct fit and costs around 150 bucks a pair. Just plug and play, no modifications required. Using it for Quite sometime now.

I got mine overhauled about three months back, the entire thing costed me about 1.4k odd, though this was not at an SVC. Bushes and bearing were replaced. I had even posted a pic of the condition of my old bush (no pun intended )

Yup that was the price I had to pay, IIRC these were the things done:

                            1. Swingarm bush and Bearing replacement
                            2. The bushes in the rear wheel were replaced
                            3. Complete re-greasing of all joints
                            4. Some tiny service niggles.

I had that odd feeling of being fleeced but owing to the horrible feedback from SVCs in the past and general talk on the Swingarm work being expensive, agreed on the price.

Though the issue did get fixed.

                            Edit:

Could you give more details as to what exactly was done? My bike too has that problem and the mech is not able to pinpoint the reason. Chain tightening not done properly meaning??

If im not wrong the prices for Swing arm bushes(taken) as an assembly is almost half the price of what it costs for the Zma(or may be even less). This is only for spares. If the bushes are replaced outside of Showroom, generally they charge around 200-250. That's why was a bit surprised look at the rate they charged you.
