Will go again soon to him for headlight replacement as well.
Well, the same thing has happened to me too now :P But then that is because I had done a lot of wrestling with the nut with a regular spanner initially, until I bought the ring wrench, damaging the nut in the process. It still worked fine after that though, and I even changed AmoghDox 's oil with the same wrench without any issues. However, last time I had to take it to the local mech, and he too had to remove the lower fairing
I'm puzzled as to how did your nut get rounded even with a ring wrench! :what: wasn't it a snug fit?

That's a great piece of info and advice, psr sir! Will surely do that on my next oil change. Which Pulsar model's oil drain nut must we use, BTW?

This is what I tried and failed with. Please post a pic if you think I got the wrong tool.

By the way, i poured in 1 litre of the new engine oil. But I think the capacity is 1.1 litre in the bike. Hope that is not a problem.

It should probably be OK, and many folks here do that.
I personally bought 2 bottles initially, emptied 1, and poured 100ml from the other one on the first oil change. Then onwards I buy 1 bottle every time and keep using 100ml from the earlier one. I even bought a measuring cylinder to pour out the 100ml

And yes, you got the right tool. I also use the same thing, but the guys at the SVC use a similar one with a flatter head.

Rode to office today. Immediately I felt that the gears have sort of hardened. Almost impossible to go from 1st to N. Is it possible for oil change to have effect on gear shifting? Or is it just due to the throttle free play reduction that I did this morning.

My mech says he'd charge a whooping 300 for the cone set replacement as it requires a lot of work. I feel its way too much. Are you sure only 100 should be the labor charges?
I dread going to SVC since I can't stand in the service bay watching them work and I fear they'll induce more problems rather than solving.
Problems in cone set ?
Well, welcome to my world

Well I got out of your world few weeks back in that case.
Basically, I hate when my bike doesn't feel proper. I want it to age well, and not just die suddenly.

Your gear shifts are fine, but the cone set has gone bust.
But how can cone set be related to gear shifting?

Clutch freeplay matters too. Did you out in a XXw40 oil or XXw30? Because w30 oils are thin and they cause hardening/knocking in traffic.

They are not related, both are different set of problems.
My cone set has had the problem since my accident and the gear shifting seems a bit to tough(since beginning), I will get the filter cleaned out this month-end while the service and since last week, my bike kind of wobbles when I press the front brake, just doesn't feel stable while braking as it used to, the handle seems to be shifting a bit forward in case of hard front breaking, Hope I am describing it right. Otherwise, you might have to test-ride my bike once again during the coming G2G

The stock Hero oil is the worst oil ever. Even my gear shifts are hard and a little hard to find the neutral but am used to it. Its easier to goto neutral from second gear rather than from first. I'm planning to change my oil to one of the semi synthetic ones after the second service which is due in 300 kms, should get better.

Bro, I posted this issue just after switching to Shell AX7 semi synthetic. So I don't think engine oil is going to do the trick for you. But who knows.
