Reason - you claimed warranty for stuff that you can't avoid in India. So, it'll happen again. Moreover, you lose your no claim bonus.

I know, people might have a different opinion, but I feel its not worth claiming insurance for stuff less than the yearly premium amount.

Woohooo, tapatalk works on my phone!
But these damages will come around 2000 bucks. Just about my yearly premium. Even if I get 50% that's 1000. NCB is only like 200.

I know it could happen again. But I usually take very good external care of the bike. At least yearly once I want to fix the damages.

Got the chain loosened. It was very tight at certain points. Now that problem has gone. Thanks.

Which is what I feel as well, Divya, but better to let a person learn .

120 mm can be fit by removing the chain cover. 130/140 mm tires aren't available for 18 inch wheels AFAIK.

Haven't seen any 130 or 140 section tyres off late. There were some available few years back, mainly used on REs. Dont remember the brand though. You can used 120 section tyres without removing the chain guard, but with slight modifications. Jayakrishna can shed more light as he has used Vertigo Sport 120/80 18 on his zmr for the ladakh ride.

120 profile is the max you can fit without any modifications. Ceat vertigo sports had to be aligned carefully with little gaps between chain guard, rear disc rotor support rod and swing arm..

Currently we have Vertigo Rage Which is 130/80-18 Tubeless but might touch your Swing arm and will be very tough to ride in mud.

Ah, I stand corrected then.

But, here's why I feel I couldn't fit the 120 mm PSD in my bike (just for testing purposes though).

Stock tire is 100/90-18. Height of sidewalls = 90 mm

Jay has fixed 120/80-18. That means the height of sidewalls = 96 mm (difference from stock = 6 mm)

I tried fitting 120/90-18 (PSD)
Height of the sidewall = 108 mm (dofference from stock = 18 mm)

I feel this 18 mm increase in height would certainly have some lateral increase too, because however hard we tried, the tire touched the chain guard.

Kindly enlighten.

Speaking of tyres, I would like a few reviews on the CEAT Vertigo and Zoom in the size: 100/90-18".
I am planning to get rid of the ever fishtail-lover Zapper Y with any one of these. Under panic braking, Zapper Y acts as if the rear wheel isn't there at all! And is enough to give the rider a heart attack! Anyone who is/are using the tyres mentioned could please share their short review on the same.

Thanks

Any idea on the best service centre for my ZMR in Bangalore ??
I know it's a subjective matter, but recently I have been facing a lot of issues with my bike and I don't want to give it to the usual service centres as this is an important junction in my bike's life, it has run for over 20,000 kms within a year. I have to get the cone set fixed, rear disc is having problems, bike is riding very rough and I have to get the injector cleaned manually. These fall out of the regular service schedules and thus I want the best service centre for this time. I usually give to Rishi motors in whitefield but they are no good for this I think. So please suggest something a.s.a.p. Will be giving it tommorrow morning.

There wont be any increase in width of Side wall, with the increase in height, or vice versa unless its a 100% Aspect Ratio tyre. Have not clearly checked a ZMR with a 120 profile PSD( But have seen, so cant comment more on it. I knew Jai had it for Quite sometime, so was able to relate to the Query.

To add more to the confusion: Even the 12/80-18 SIRAC required to cut/remove the Chain Guard

Yes. 33 psi in the rear tire at the time of testing. (Stock tire's air pressure recommendation)
Got the pressure checked at a BP petrol bunk (near the tire shop where I was testing the same).

Remember the minimal gap problems in Slush During the Koda Ride. The wheel just refuses to rotate after a period of time if the slush is sort of clayish.
