Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
IMO, during an impact the fairing takes the impact first and offers more rider protection than half faired/naked bikes. Also they protect the engine and other components. The sole purpose of it is void if you take it off.Originally posted by AmoghDox View PostAFAIK ZMA/R is being a half fairing bike performs much better than ZMR in such situations, once i happened to ride it in windy/ rainy day and without any fuss it performed brilliantly, though tires setup was not stock but it had much stability than ZMR.
Anyways as you said wait until crosswind settle it down and ride ZMR, for time being that option suits me well

getting goosebumps already.
Guys, after three long years, yesterday was the best day spent with my bike all thanks to Divya Sharan.. I always had a doubt in trusting my bike cause of all the problems that i faced with it, but yesterday was simply superb. We did 100+kmph for about three hours i guess and the bike just kept going. The posture is just perfect. Aches a bit in the start but after getting used to it, it's pure fun.. Never calculated mileage but am sure that it would be in the range 35-40kmpl, cause of the speeds we were doing. I just feel that this is THE bike within 1.5L for touring just cause of it's comfort, mileage and most importantly, it's engine.. Karizma rocks!!ZMR- PGMFI re-defined

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
My friend took the delivery of his white ZMR a month back & was already struggling to maintain the colour in shape especially after the long trips we made on highways. So we decided to take some professional help & the next thing that came on my mind was '3M'. Contacted the Pune store of 3M car care & enquired them if they work on bike & their reply was affirmative. They offered a "paint protection film" which was thin but hard coating of plastic (polymer) coating (kind of screen guards we put on mobile phones) on the areas which are prone to scratches & paint chipping due to flying debris at high speeds. The paint protection film was seeming to be good option until the service guy quoted the price which was was almost equal to the price of ZMR's fairing (& suddenly I came to know why I could only see BMWs in their service bay). Next was the 'Paint Sealant Process' which was a good option as it covered the total bike & not specific areas like the earlier one. The service guy also recommended the same stating that the results of this paint sealant process would last at least a year & even more if we just take some care. So we decided to go for this one. The process took about 2.5 hours. This was the first time that a service advisor requested us to stay and check the process out. It was really a time consuming & tiring process done in a very professional manner. The washing itself took one hour followed by air blowing. Next were a series of processes, infact coating of liquids, creams, sealant. Special treatment on alloys. At last the job was done the bike looked a lot more shinier than the display ZMR which is in the HMC showroom and there was a smile of satisfaction on our faces. The guy who was working on my friend's bike commented to my friend that the paint job done by Hero on this bike is good & my friend proudly smiled & looked at me (I know he will add this as a point in our next ZMR v/s Pxysar debate). We paid the bill, purchased a pair of micro fibre cloth & left the store.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Refilled yesterday. It gobbled up fuel worth 850 bucks for full tank. That is 10.7 litres.Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostHey bro, congos!!
Guys, after three long years, yesterday was the best day spent with my bike ....
Distance covered on previous full tank = 442 kms (at speeds >105 kmph)
Mileage at such speeds = 41+ kmpl. Bliss.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
My Black Pearl has become 4 years old.. The Manufacturing date of the bike is 19th Feb 2010 and the Date of Purchase was 24th of Feb 2010
it has been 4 years with this wonderful machine.. completed 32602 kms till today morning.. I would love to write a Long Term Ownership on her. I will soon do that..
The experience so far has been one of the best. No major issues have cropped up till date (touchwood). I had hurt her some 4 months back and it was pure stupidity of the people on roads.. once it was my fault and a lesson learnt
never overtake from the left hand side when you have no space to overtake
on Sunday when I got her water washed, the FI fault light started blinking
I didn't get worried because I knew it was because of the water wash and after a while, it was normal
I am going to own this bike forever till I die and pass on to my next generation.. One day she will be a master piece..
Oh My Black Pearl.. No one knows how much I love you..
Sorry, i don't have any pics of her in my office
Edit - Got the pics

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR new rear tyre
Hi Xbhpians,
We are riding to Ooty from Bangalore this weekend in around 6-8 bikes.
One of freind wants to get his ZMR's rear tyre changed before the trip.
He wants to try something different than the stock MRF Zapper-Y, something more grippier. Could you plz suggest any brands and shops in Bangalore?
