Lucky me. I got the additive a week before you did. Free for a speed run tomorrow morning?

EDIT - Called you. Planning to hit Chitradurga (again) tomorrow morning. Will leave my place at 5 AM.

No options for the 18" wheels mate.. the only tire available is the stock tire that we get with ZMR I am using Michelin Sirac Street as a TL up in front.. completed 12,000 kms with it and still doing good (touchwood). the tire is good in dry and wet conditions.

PS. I am talking about the front tire from Michelin Sirac Street.. not the rear tire. the rear tire is a Pain in the butt..

Hello folks,

I just came back from 260 odd KM of roundtrip with my wifey on ZMR (it was her first so called long tour on ZMR), on following things i would like to gather some inputs from you guys:

1) Wind blast: i never ever felt such wind drags/ windblast on any other bikes on which I toured previously with pillion on board. it was really shaking like a boat (just like her name "Abra") on post 70 KMPH, though I was cruising between 80 to 95 kmph but windblast/ drag was quiet noticeable,
Just wondering was it because of inadequate tire pressure? or every ZMR owner has the same issue?adding another windscreen would be advisable? or it is just cause of full fairing?
2) Tires: Very poor/ sloppiest performance, couldn't even gain the confidence on corners. definitely they will go out within next month, suggestions are welcome!
3) Handling would've been far better(with pillion): presuming it can be related with tires?
4) Vibrations: I did give my bike to SVC last week only to reduce the vibrations on faring part, exhaust and engine, but in city due to traffic limitation i didn't get time to check it on higher speeds properly, it somewhat reduced the vibration but not to that extend (my wife was complaining that it was vibrating more than RTR on higher speed which was shocking for me)
Any inputs for above would be really appreciated, or just wondering am I asking more from ZMR just a thought!

A taller windscreen would aid you in redcing the windblast onto you, but the side drag in cross winds can't be avoided. Poor fairing design!
Replace rear tires with 110 mm profile (TL/TT doesn't really matter), you'd love the improvement.
Put double sided tape/rubber between all joints as well as get the engine mount bolts inspected and tightened if needed to reduce vibes.
(OTOH, did you lube/adjust your chain before the trip or not? A bads setup here can cause vibes too.)

Apart from that, its asking a bit too much from ZMR!

I knew it I was asking too much from poor ZMR my bad!

Yup chain was lubed, I will go to SVC again for above mentioned inspection
pillion comfort was far better than RTR/ narrow RE TBTS seat...
did some seat modification prior to ride which was far far better than previous seat setup with added 1 inches of soft foam and seat cover with some added cushioning (in picture seat might be looking odd or filmsy but it looks good in flesh, suits the bike and serves the purpose quiet well)

Please find the seat cover pics (sorry for poor pic quality) Click image for larger version

I have the same problem when cruising past 70kmph.. There's just too much side drag due to the cross winds. The winds nearly pushed me close to the bottom of a lorry today The fairing is not designed so well.
And about the vibrations, for me the bike vibrates only at lower rpms.. Say ~4k, specially in 2nd gear being the highest of all . At higher rpms its butter smooth

As Divya Sharan said nothing can be done for side drag, due to it's full (faulty design) fairing... only option I would think to remove it, if needed to I would love to do that if nothing going to hamper cooler, i really don't bother about looks, functionality comes first for me if removing the panels would improve stability and safety on higher speeds.

No, its there for a reason. You'll lose stability at high speeds.
Also, If there are gusty winds while you're riding just wait for a while, for them to settle down and then you can continue riding.

AFAIK ZMA/R is being a half fairing bike performs much better than ZMR in such situations, once i happened to ride it in windy/ rainy day and without any fuss it performed brilliantly, though tires setup was not stock but it had much stability than ZMR.

Anyways as you said wait until crosswind settle it down and ride ZMR, for time being that option suits me well
