The fairing is not a direct fit. But that should not stop you from buying the older version. If you like the older zmr, and if i were you, i'd rush to the showroom and book it.

People had high expectations in that thread. No wonder when the specs where released, everyone booed it down.. Even now i wish if ZMR were a 250cc one back then, by now instead of the HX250, hero would have released an HX350 or 500. LOL!!

Exactly. Just a new engine inside the current ZMR wud've been better instead of the new one.
But, then I believe its only the headlight unit. The sides & the back of the new ZMR are really gud IMO.

I m gona do some research on this.....
There has been no changes to the chassis....so it might be possible to fit just the headlight of the old zmr on the new one....while preserving the fairing....i say this is worth a try....

• Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR

Hey Guys,

I haven't been active here for almost a month and God I see lots of discussions

My Black Pearl finally completed 33000 kms 2 days back

I got her serviced 2 weeks back and I had a discussion with the Chief Mechanic there and few other mechanics who went for the training of the new ZMR and the New Karizma. They said the new bikes are vib free compared to our series (Plastic Particles) and the acceleration is far better.. The bike weighs less than our bikes and they are hitting the showrooms real soon.. I am gonna have a test ride as soon as the bike appears in the showroom

I am just wondering whether they might have remapped the ECU and if it will be available to fit in our bikes.. You know, better performance. I don't think any other major changes in the new bike other than better tuning and better quality plastic..

Also, I am waiting to see the Sprockets.. My Guess is, they are going to have the same size as the current models but rest assured, the bike is a much better performer than the current models..

When asked about the pricing, they haven't got a clue about it. If anyone is waiting to buy a ZMR, my suggestion would be wait for the new lot I was getting tempted to exchange my bike when the mechanics were explaining about the acceleration of the bike..

Reneav, the newer models weigh less and produce more power, hence better performance. I don't think its just the ECU, they've played around with the engine too.

Yup, That is true. but how else can it produce 19.xx bhp. I am just guessing they could have played around with the ECU Tuning and stuff.. yes, they could have played around with the Engine too..

The Mechs said the engine is a little smoother than the current models Lets wait for the bike to hit the showrooms and then I will think about tweaking with the ECU and Sprockets along with the Chain Guard

Before that, can you let us know what size is the rear tire exactly? I might change in 3-4 months. Seems I put Zapper Q only yesterday, but I've done 13k on it already and a 3k kms trip is approaching.

As far as I remember, the tire size is 110/90-18

I have a pic of it at my home. Once I reach home, I will try and upload it to clear it up.. I Guess these tires will be available in the market in a couple of months after the launch..

I was facing the irritating FI light issue for over a month now. Also, the 160 km ride last week wasn't enough to keep the battery charged. The console would reset every time I started the bike. So, my checklist had a few immediate solutions.

1. New battery. I bought the stock 7 AH battery. My bike came with 7 AH as OE.
2. Unplug all wires and fuses and clean the compartment inside.

ODO reading as of now - 44461 kms. So, the stock battery lasted almost 44.5k kms. That's good by any standard IMO.

Unplugged the angel eyes as I feel they reduced the battery life by a good 5-6k kms.
Cleaned all fuses with a rag dipped in petrol and dried them in shade.

Bought the new battery for 1600 rupees and got 150 for exchanging the old one. Damage = 1450 rupees.

New battery comes with a 3 year warranty.

New and old battery side by side. Took a 2 km test ride after fitting all electricals and the bike starts immediately. The FI light issue is gone! Yippieeeeee!!!

Got my baby a quick wash.

I find THH and Cross at par, almost like the prev gen LS2 helmets.
