Dont think 20W for a 10W engine, no international manufacturer gives oil specs to the bike, its only in india to increase the oil sales I guess, AFAIK the type of oil only effects the engine starting in cold conditions as we have FI we need not to bother....

I have done 1500kms with the honda oil the engine feel is just the same as the day i changed it..

the HH oil, after 700 sucks..
thanks bro im thinking to switch to motul semi synthetic 5100 4T 10W40 or 15w50, which one will be best for zmr???
secondly zmr needs 1.35l after complete drainage and 1.1l during changing. if i switch to semi synthetic do i have to completely drain the oil or i just fill 1.1l of new SS oil???

Buy two 1L bottles. Keep the second bottle for 0.1L fill everytime you change the oil. No need to drain the whole 1.3L everytime by opening the crankcase.

Instead of Motul semisynth, you can use Petronas Sprinta 5000 Fully Synthetic for the same price (450 per L).

          • Go for 10W40. If possible, open the crankcase and drain fully if you are filling a synthetic oil. But, settle for one oil, do not change oils too frequently.

im not going to change the oil after SS and im changing it bcoz im very much unsatisfied by the HH oil.
Is that means i can change the oil to ss without opening the crank case????
im asking this bcoz im planning to do it my self as svc guys refill oil over the specified limit.

I am planning to but a new ZMR, but many of my friends are stating to go for ZMA R mention some reasons like

The review of the vehicle is not good as ZMA R

It is generating a lot of heat because of fairing

The legs are getting heated up

Please suggest me with a valid option as once invested cant be taken back
Buddy if you have budget I'll suggest you to definitely go for ZMR... Many of my friends also told me to stay away from this bike but I followed my heart and XBHP and I'm so happy with the bike...

My friends pointed out things like it's mileage is 20-25 only, very unstable at high speeds, not good at performance and all... I just don't know where people get all this info... The bike is awesome... no issues at all and you won't regret your decision...

They all were suggesting me p135, p150 and rtr 160 depending upon the group of friends with whom I was sitting with. But one thing was common, all suggested me to stay away from ZMZ and Unicorn dazzler. Now all are jealous of me

regarding reviews it has the same engine as zma r only the technical difference is PGM-FI. both bikes are almost same.

yes it generates heat but it will vanish after 2nd service or after 2k kms.

you can feel the heat in your legs but it will too vanish after 2nd service.

u need not to worry its a good bike and is in market from almost 1.5 years. go for it. dont think twice ull never regret.

ps: all new buyers do not take much opinions from your friends and family coz ull get confused more and more.

HH "recommends" a grade and does not say it is a must. Grades of the oil depends on the climate and ride conditions. The same engine of Karizma which HH recommended w40 before now recommends W30.

Petronas is 15W40; a very good grade for Honda engines.

I am not sure about the sales part but its not mandatory to use the same grade as recommended AFAIK.

I think we can get more info on this if we post this on the engine oils thread (if there is one like that)

Actually its been a long time so I dont remember correctly about the threads....

My advice is to use Honda's 20w40 oil. It is cheap and best. The HH oils are now manufactured by BP and Servo as opposed to Idemitsu in the past. Idemitsu oils are very good and recommended by Honda. The last considerably long than BP and Servo.

No need to open the crank case and just drain and fill the 20W40 oil. It would be fine.
