Gear shift is lil harder in ZMR initially... It was same for me too.. It was that harder that I developed a pot hole in my left shoe
But it became butter smooth after 1st service.

Did u get your bike serviced?

Hey bro thanks for ur wishes, i have listen a lot about Coorg, in future definately will have ride to Coorg from Mumbai.

My bike is also now 6 months old and had odometers shows 10,890 kms till date, before going for long ride please check the basic things such as:

1). Have a short ride a day before, which will let u known any problems persist in bike if any.
2). Check all the electric things such as indicator (imp when you are riding on highway), headlight, tail lamp, break light.
                  3). Check your breaks properly.
                  4). Check Break Fluids.
5). Check any part is loose or not, if it is loose tighten it.
6). Check for air pressure. (28 in front and 33 in rear)
7). Check for engine oil level.

These are some basic things you need to check before a ride, for more information please check the thread "Long Distance Riding", which has full information on long distance riding do and dont's.

Best of luck for your ride. My best wishes are with you dear. I am too planning for a Mumbai - Kolhapur - Pune - Nasik - Dewas ride. which is approx 2000 kms (to and fro). from 19th April till 25th April 2011.

                  • tyres

Changed my ZMR rear tyre yesterday to Michelin Pilot Sporty 100/90-18. On the sticker it was written TT/TL, so I guess it can be used in both modes. I am of course using as tubeless. Cost me Rs 2180.

Spoke to couple of dealers in Pune, they do not deduct any amount for the original tyre from the purchase. Anyway the stock tyre had a puncture and I wanted to get rid of it!

The dealers in Shivajinagar I spoke to also did not have Michelin M45. Anyway I was not too sure of M45 as it is TT. Though I know many forum members are using M45 without tube.

Too early to say how much better Pilot Sporty is than the stock tyre, but I can sense that the grip is better. Hopefully bike will skid less

Xbhpians, please let me know if there are any good options for the (80/100-18) front tyre in TL option. Could not find anything in Michelin.

Make sure that you give your bike for 1st service by 500 Kms..
Inform the SVC guys that gear shift is hard so that they lube the gear shaft appropriately..

After 1st service the gear shift will be smoother & the heating problem will vanish gradually (Which was the same in my bike too ) & will be a pleasant ride from then...

I've driven my bike at an avg speed of 90 kmph for more than 45 mins during touring with no hiccups or hassle... That's the quality you can expect from Honda engine

Take care of your bike & it'll in turn take care of you... Happy biking

The problem I face in my bike are:

                          1. Rattling sound from fairing when I drive at high speeds in every gear
                          2. Squeak sound when I turn the handle by left to lock the bike
                          3. Squeak sounds from rear shocks when riding with pillion
                          4. Rear LED assemblty glowing really low & few LEDs not glowing at all (The fiber frame over LED assembly developed a 2 inch crack when a bus hit my girl from behind & I was managing with a transperant cellophane tape over it )

Kindly suggest me ways to fix them...

                            2. Sound must be coming from a cables attached to handle..loose them little bit.

                            3. Check for any dust around

                            4. Check with SVC...if can be repaired then they will surely do...otherwise need to replace..
