  • When every time I depress the clutch in idle, engine sound changes a little(hardly norticable). But no idle rpm change.

My ZMR is run for only 78kms. Is this a normal scenario or an indication of a problem associated with the clutch plates??

And I still ride with the broken fairings(which broke by a rock stuck between the front tyre & the fairing), is this going to be a issue later??

          1) BLACKCAT 2) MINDA and another 3) AUTOCOP 2W

Myself using the Third One after one of friend in Gurgaon who works in Maruti insisted on using that one.
Honestly never knew that AUTOCOP makes Remote for Two Wheeler.

Luckily my Bike Accessory Shop in Kolkata sells them. Picked up the brochure and studied the Electrical diagram.

After thoroughly being convinced called up the Dealer to buy and fix them up. No wire cutting required.

Never had any problem in last One year. Use it normally TWICE daily for locking and unlocking.
Though have Remote start option functionally never used it.

Retails @ Rs 1800/- and got it for Rs 1300/- and fitting done by company person for free.

Simple lock & chain is always best option , i am using it @ night , but if you go outside it is not feasible to carry it with you , that's why i think the disc lock are good, small & efficient. Looking for the disc lock without alarm , but not found any , only once i found on eby.in but it looks cheap quality.
If you came across any good disc security lock without alarm , then please let me know.
          Goldi,
There are locks from XENA which are tried and tested.

XENA Motorcycle Security: disc-lock alarms for motorcycles, scooters and ATVS

Moreover the one I am using AUTOCOP 2W is not touch sensitive.
The alarm is activated when the Bike is removed from Side Stand or Main Stand.
More if it is done inadvertently and is again placed as is the Alarm will go off after few sounds.
Thus saves the battery also in case of parking malls etc.

Though I am not sure whether this is the best one or not but pretty useful one.
May be others and seniors can throw some light on this matter.
34567 kms and ZMR sold :(

Yes, engine sound increases when clutch is pressed.

By adjusting the clutch settings, you mean increase OR decrease freeplay of the clutch or any other thing??

Thanks satyajit for remembering the price info posted earlier. Sorry that i forgotton & asked again.
Xena seems best with toughest quality but its more pricy , as i use a chain & lock @ night so i need a disc lock to add security when i park in market or anywhere outside in day time so was looking for a midrange product.

XENA is the best. It's expensive however, investing in good disc lock will never go waste.

There are many models to choose from. If you are really interested, go for XENA XX-6 which is expected to suit the Karizma-R disc/ZMR. (Hope both are of same type, correct me if wrong).

My friend earlier bought 2 of this (one for me). XENA XX-14, however, he was able to lock the TBTS without any issues, when it was tried on my bike, the disc which has some slots (kinds) was small that only small pin might have fit(say XENA-XX6), this one did not. I did a costly experiment, but I learned something out of it and now had a chance to share it.

                  Compatibility
                  XENA-XX6 - All bikes/Scooter
XENA-XX14 - TBTS, Pulsars, Yamaha Fazer etc.

Nice good quality products comes hard to India. These are available in US and other parts I believe. You can buy from India and ship to someone who is coming down from US. Note:- The product is bit heavy than we think. Good enough to knock someone down with it.

amazon.com accepts international credit cards payments for shopping on their website. There are other websites from which you can order too, however, it is better to give a call to find out if they accept credit cards outside US.

Here is some more info about XENA products.

                          Locking-pin size:
                          XX6-6mm (1/4”)
                          XX10-10mm (3/8”)
                          XX14-14mm (1/2”)

Distance from locking-pin to back of disc-slot*:
                          XX6-37mm (1 1/2”)
                          XX10-46mm (1 7/8”)
                          XX14-44mm (1 3/4”)

This might be helpful to someone in the costly experiment .

actually i face this issue earlier in my ZMR...when i press clutch in idle mode,,engine sound change a lot...it was not normal sound.....little change in sound is always there...

I checked with my SVC..they adjust the clutch setting and everything fine...

Yes it is a costly experiment. And if you got fail in it ( got a lock bigger than disc holes ) then its a big hole in pocket
