You just have to change the display mode! To do that, refer the manual or just press "RESET" button then turn ignition ON. Here select D-MODE by simply pressing the RESET button.
Then press SEL button to SAVE & END. Then only you will be able to see your name when turning ON & OFF.. Otherwise display show A-MODE by default means only the standard messege without your name.
    Hope you got it
every time i try it it goes to the name type.. Never shows the different modes
    Help!!!!

Refer page 19 of owner's manual for mode selection... Select either B-Mode or D-Mode... Then register your name as per detailed instructions given at page 17 and 18 and press "SEL" button to "SAVE".

        • For the first time i take my ZMR till 60kmph, but to my suprise, it did vibrate a lot, I mean, a lot, like an old pulsar...

I don't understand why? Is it because I take to that speeds for the first time or is it just the way ZMR behaves in its "running in" period??

So far I kept the bike between 40 - 50kmph, bike has done only 200 odd kms yet..

I expect this to behave the way ZMR best known for, "smooooth & relaaaaxed"!!

And, guys, does any one has a solution for RVM vibrations at around low speeds like around 40kmph at 5th gear?? It's really irritating and cannot see anything from them when they vibrate..

Lubricate your Chain with Bearing grease, and then ride....

Vibrations is because of the excess plastic/fibre we have on the bike.
Even if you keep the bike in neutral and rev it you ll find the vibes, mirrors and other parts vibrating.

              • Since this is an ownership thread I m trying to pen down a recent incident.

Finally I have got my bike back after a long wait of over a month. You can blame hero honda spares issue for that!
Over the due course period I have realised how important my bike is for me. It's like being handicapped without my bike.

My bike hit a big stone in a straight butter smooth highway approaching Delhi at a speed of around 100 kmph. What followed was only terrible things, something which I have never experienced in my 8 years of riding.
Both rims got bend with the impact and all I was trying was to control my bike from having its first fall.
With the bike wobbling and with all my effort trying to reduce the speed of the bike as much as possible I still had a fall at most 40-50 kmph speed.
First impact directly on the helmet as I made contact with the ground and it felt as if I have just woke up to my worst nightmare.
I quickly picked up my bike and checked on myself. I was perfectly fine and had escaped a major incident happening to me, Thankfully I was completely geared when this happened.

To my surprise, Bike fairing did not get damaged apart from the scratches which looked ugly. Exhaust cowl got scratched too.

I would provide the cost for all the parts which I have paid for and would also give break up of how many parts are covered in insurance.

Total amount I paid in the HH service centre is Rs.19500/-
Not to forget the new set of tires I had to buy - Pirelli Sports Demon 110/90 18 - Rs.3800
                Duro front 90/90 18 - Rs.2600

In total I spent a bomb this month of around Rs.26000/-

Hope I get my insurance money soon. The guy said it will take 3-4 weeks

It is really a long process, I waited nearly 20days to get alloywheel & rear shocks after a crash, even after the 20days when there is no sign of my bike getting fixed I have wrote to HH and got things done in 2dyas.

That's why it is mandatory to wear the riding gears while riding... Good to see sachin that you are fine, no damaged to your body, i saw your bike when i went for servicing at FortPoint, Mahim... good to see you on ride again...

                        • @ Dan_GP There are no vibrations in my ZMR @ any speed from lower end to higher end , but recently to change the tank they removed the whole fairing & now at lower end there are vibrations , i can't figure out what i see in mirror because of those vibratios. I am going to remount the fairing when i will be at svc next time. So better check your ZMR fairing fitting.

@ Sachinnair good to know you are fine. Holes are ok but a stone on highway

+1 , when it is factory fitted , dere is no noise, but once you open your fairing, there is a noise, same has happened to me, i have changed my front left cowl, after that i am continuously suffered by strong vibrations, i have told SVC at fort point, they have done something temporarily, after a day again it starts vibrating, then i went to Ishna Motors, Andheri (E), they have out some plastic stuff, it has stopped vibrations for some time, but now again i am getting vibrations... so its time to try some other SVC to fix it.
Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

                              • Thanks everyone for your views about the vibrations

Well, I haven't remove fairings till now, all are factory fitted, and also lubricated the chain very well, but still the vibrations are unbearable.

Thought this is the BEST refined bike around, reviews say that too continuously..

I cannot figure out why ZMR vibrates, I am hoping to tour a lot and that is why I bought this bike. Even my friend Pulsar 220 is way smoother, but in a different manner of course.. And also quality comes in too..(ZMR=best quality feeling)

But still has a feeling that after running in, after 2000 odd kms, bike would be more smoother and more refined. Still believe that this is the best refined bike, irrespective of the vibrations, and would stay with me 5 years at least, with all the long, really long tours that I am going to go.

(^^psr, I'd greatly appreciate your views)
