  • Fitting forged levers of RTR on ZMR

I really love the forged front brake and clutch levers of apache RTR they really give racing bike look. Can they be implanted to our ZMR? Are they direct fit or need some mods?

In my opinion forged levers are not safe.....The ZMA/ZMR levers are soft levers meaning they will bend and not break in case of impact, which the forged ones will ie., they will break...further in case of any head on impact the levers are likely to hit our fingers on the grip...a soft lever will bend and take part of the impact while the forged ones will crush our fingers against the grip.

The original soft clutch lever which came with bike broke when the bike had a fall.I hope now even HH is providing the hard levers.

Mine has broken due to a fall. so no spares available for the CBR rite now. when i had a small research i found only the ZMR's mirror bracket suits the CBR's. I somehow arranged the right side but no left side available.
Ok bro , i remember they have a pair of white rvm & two Black rvm of same side i don't remember the side but will give a update when i visit there in next week. BTW i think ZMR mirrors won't be same as of CBR, you sure they will fit on CBR ?

The ZMR fairing brings down an otherwise Good bike...who knows without it the FE and performance will still be better than what it is now.

+1 if fairing is removed , the bike performance will definately increased... the weight and power ration in ZMR dosent match ......i wish if HH bring ZMR wid less fairing..

Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

Strange, one of my friend's clutch lever got bent forwards almost into a semi circle, and I corrected it by putting a pipe and slowly bending it back..The lever is now straight and strong enough to operate the clutch.

As soon as bike fell the lever just broke off.It costed me 68 rs for new clutch lever and its visible quality is same as previous.I seriously never saw a lever which had highly bent instead of breaking on all the bikes which i own may it be scooty, suzuki gs,pulsar or even karizma.I am really willing to see me some pictures of bent lever if you have any.

Finally I have got my bike back after a long wait of over a month. You can blame hero honda spares issue for that!
Over the due course period I have realised how important my bike is for me. It's like being handicapped without my bike.

My bike hit a big stone in a straight butter smooth highway approaching Delhi at a speed of around 100 kmph. What followed was only terrible things, something which I have never experienced in my 8 years of riding.
Both rims got bend with the impact and all I was trying was to control my bike from having its first fall.
With the bike wobbling and with all my effort trying to reduce the speed of the bike as much as possible I still had a fall at most 40-50 kmph speed.
First impact directly on the helmet as I made contact with the ground and it felt as if I have just woke up to my worst nightmare.
I quickly picked up my bike and checked on myself. I was perfectly fine and had escaped a major incident happening to me, Thankfully I was completely geared when this happened.

To my surprise, Bike fairing did not get damaged apart from the scratches which looked ugly. Exhaust cowl got scratched too.

I would provide the cost for all the parts which I have paid for and would also give break up of how many parts are covered in insurance.

Total amount I paid in the HH service centre is Rs.19500/-
Not to forget the new set of tires I had to buy - Pirelli Sports Demon 110/90 18 - Rs.3800
                  Duro front 90/90 18 - Rs.2600

In total I spent a bomb this month of around Rs.26000/-

Hope I get my insurance money soon. The guy said it will take 3-4 weeks

No need to sorry or thank anyone here man, this is the biking brotherhood, and its just knowledge sharing and helping India become a Strong & Safe Biking community.

Reg the brake lever. I think if you can get that one in Hyderabad if you hunt a little. Try to call Venkateswara Associates, they are the main supplier.
PS: The spares sales guys here in hyderabad has a bad habit, they will say 'no' if you call and 'yes' if you go upfornt on the same day.

This sounds a great Idea, I also have a bent lever, will try this advanced method to fix it!

Mentioned below are covered in Insurance.

                        Wheel Rear [Rim] - 5750
                        Wheel Front [Rim] - 4925

                        Mirror Assy, R Back - 215

After adding VAT + labour tax + labour charges total amount was Rs.15214/-

Mentioned below are not covered in insurance.

Total of around Rs.19000 shelled out in the service centre this week.
Most importantly I have my bike back.

I would provide estimate on the claim I got once i have the exact figures.
Importantly, 80% is covered for Rims and more or less 40-50% on remaining items shown in insurance bill.

I m sure most of us have insurance however Fellow Xbhpians who dont have insurance, please get one as it does come handy as in my case.

Sorry for the technical jargons in the description as thats how HH write it in the Tax invoice.

You do that as a temporary fix. I still suggest you order a new lever (And wait 3 months for HeroHonda to send them across)

After you fix the lever and god forbid you fall again, it might break and may not bend again. Been there done that. I suggest you replace the levers than to think about a 100 Rupee spare.
