I think my 1.5 year old ZMR 's battery is dying slowly and i need to replace it in next few days in order to prevent the unnecessary damage to the sensors and the fuel Injection system. Can any one throw light on which battery model and make would be best suited for the Bike?

Below are the pics of Z written on tank pad.. It'll be very useful in preventing scratches on tank. It's not just ordinary sticker, it's thickness is about 2-3 mm...sigpic

Had to go out of station urgently. . left the bike as it was in a closed parking.
came back after 3 weeks. i wasn't sure of what would have happened. I never left it idle for more than a week.
With a bit of hesitation I turned ignition ON . . pressed the starter and wooaahhh... engine back to life. everything seems normal
even tires did not loose any pressure.
so now my question. What things should be done if I have to leave my ZMR for a month or longer???sigpic

Had bike serviced.. Changed spark plug and air filter at 14000 kms..
Recommended spark plug in manual is - NGK-CPR EA9
Service guy came up with CHAMPION POWER P-RA7HC spark plug when I demanded another one, He brought NGK DPR7EA9 and told only these two are available.. As this was also from NGK, I accepted it.. The funny thing is the spark plug that was factory fitted was also not recommended one as mentioned in owner's manual.. It was NGK DPR8EA9..ing
So in short, they recommend something, give factory fitted something else, and if you want to change, they have something entirely different in their stock..
Btw, attached old and new air filter pics..
Cost 300 for air filter, 70 for spark plug (both including 13% VAT)
Just disconnect battery terminals when you leave and reconnect before you start your bike again.. Keep your bike well covered for the period...Originally posted by 00sanjeev View PostHad to go out of station urgently. . left the bike as it was in a closed parking.

The Pulsar 200 NS comes with 8 AH VRLA from Exide....Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostGo for Exide VRLA battery...7 amp...same as stock battery...

The OE recommended spark plug is the NGK DPR 8 EA9..HH suddenly shifted to Champion Plugs and the equivalent is PRA 7 HC..Now most of CBZ and ZMA, ZMR comes with the champion plug.Originally posted by luvurbike View PostHad bike serviced.. Changed spark plug and air filter at 14000 kms..

Actually a pretty big nail had found its way inside!!!. As soon as the air was filled, the 'hiss' sound of air going out was so loud that it was easily detectedOriginally posted by shivakrish View Postoooh !! how could tat happen dude.. our tyres are meant to be tubeless rit.. was the mech able to reason why the tyre went flat suddenly ?!ZMR- PGMFI re-defined

Sir, I never heard about Champion plugs.. Sounds quite local.. Are they good enough for our bikes??Originally posted by psr View PostThe OE recommended spark plug is the NGK DPR 8 EA9..HH suddenly shifted to Champion Plugs and the equivalent is PRA 7 HC..Now most of CBZ and ZMA, ZMR comes with the champion plug.
What's the reason for this shift?? A cost cutting measure??.sigpic

I guess it has to do with company's decision to switch the plug manufacturer , due to some understanding...Champion plugs are as famous as NGK, but NGK plugs are more reliable than any other plug in the world...I personally had Champion plugs die in my Four and Two wheelers, and so never trust them.Originally posted by luvurbike View PostSir, I never heard about Champion plugs.. What's the reason for this shift?? A cost cutting measure??I don't want to sound arrogant/ignorant here, but Champion plugs aren't local. I mean, what's there in the name? Even HH is now Hero, that's more 'local' than Champion!Originally posted by psr View PostI guess it has to do with company's decision to switch the plug manufacturer , due to some understanding...Champion plugs are as famous as NGK, but NGK plugs are more reliable than any other plug in the world...I personally had Champion plugs die in my Four and Two wheelers, and so never trust them.
My ZMR always had Champion plug, right from the day I took delivery. Changed it at 12K only because it was recommended. Plonked another one. Been running fine since.
To add to the merits of the plug, my dad has the same plug on his Splendor since 1998 and he's clocked 2lac kms with not many plug changes. He changes plugs at around 25k kms though. That means, he may have changed the plug 7-8 times in 14 years.
But, I completely agree to PSR sir, NGKs are better. People say that NGKs help in better combustion and somehow aid in overall better throttle response.
Read only praises about NGKs over the web.
