  • 1). One major reason of engine stalling is low fuel, as in your case you have sufficient fuel, so visit the SVC and let them to rectify the issue.
2). Whenever you face such issue, just dont try to push starter again and again which may lead to damage to fuel pump (Cost Approx. Rs. 12000).
3). Wait for at least 15-20 minutes and then push the starter, it goes on. this is what i have done when i faced the issue.
4). After servicing i have not faced issue though i am riding in city, will come to known when i hit it on Highway.
5). Get the Fuel pump, Fuel tank and fuel injector clean once.
Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

have you installed projector , i am planning to install, you have any idea
      is it worthed
are you using stock tires or any other
      Hi bro,
No i haven't installed the projectors, the only reason being the utility of a projector not being of my utility. Im basically a tourer and there are highways in Maharashtra that are single laned like the Nashik highway...on single lane highway if your are running on a low beam u are completely blank on the sign boards alongside the roads. ( the work of the projectors is to do that....Project the beam towards a particular point and not let it spread all over the place.) where as without the projectors...in low beam also a good amount of spread of light enables efficient riding...!! Another reason for me not opting for the projectors is the removal of the reflectors of the headlight console...i dint want to fiddle with it....!!

All in all brother....only the HID's will really suffice your lack of illumination requirements...i personally dont suggest the installation of the projectors....it really takes away the amazing provision of the huge reflectors of the ZMR...yes i agree the stock setup isnt good at all....so just change to an HID...possibly...4300k...as its the closest to the Yellow beam of color and better penetrating power than the higher kelvins...!!

      Coming to the tyres:
Yes, Im still on stock tyres....(One mistake that i did of not getting the M45 two years ago when it was available....) Ive completed almost 14000Kms on the zmr...with off road and on road tours and rides.....no issues as such with the tyres..!! even in the rains...reaching 60-70 kmph cruising speed with control is efficient. But im in love with the PSD...got them fitted on a frens pulsar 200..and rode it on some ghat terrain....and it stuck to the tarmac like leech....but only issue with it...its a little heavy...and its a soft compound...so even a little less air pressure makes it prone to punctures...!! (Personal observation)...im still in a fix as to which tyres to change to....coz i dont want to loose on the feature that makes the zmr stand apart from other bikes....its Fuel Efficiency....!!

Anyway...My suggestion on the headlight....First install only the HID without Projectors....if you then feel the need of projectors you can do it later too...:-) coz if ur happy without the projector you will save your reflectors...:-)

      Cheers...!!
      Ride Safe...!!!

      • Thanks padfootmoony2006 for your reply.. I can't do the cleaning of tank and fuel pump the way you suggested.. It's beyond my DIY skills and my dare... Asking SVC guys for this thing will be too much trouble for them... They won't do anything and will tell they done all the cleaning and all.. I heard earlier that they have another process for doing the same... They disconnect the fuel line from fuel tank to fuel pump and connect fuel pump to some FI cleaning liquid and start the bike... The engine remains on till all the liquid is consumed (usually takes 1/2 an hour).. After that they again connect fuel pump to fuel tank and fuel pump is cleaned... But SVC in bhopal does not have this facility...

thanks a lot,i will not install projectors
one more zmrian suggested not to.
i want to know the price of the hid and i dont want the oncoming vehicles to curse me,it does not cause any problems for the oncoming vehicles right?
when should we change the spark plug ,my zmr has clocked 11000kms.
i took my bike yesterday in highway and it maxed out at 120kms
there was a lot of wind i accept but is that the problem or any technical issues
          thanks

keep the tacho below 5k rpm for the first 1000kms
do not drive in a constant speed
                  vary the rpm from 1-5k

no, it all depends on the bike like zmr reaches 75kms when the tacho is at 5k rpm at 5th gear
i previously owned gladiator in which it would reach 60kms at 5k rpm
so the basic thing to keep in mind is the tachometer reading that you have to keep it below 5k rpm in every gear and vary the rpm, forget about the speed

First, let me congratulate you Arun.
There's nothing like riding in the 40s or 60s.

Never pin the throttle at constant speed/RPM for long. Keep varying the RPM values.

Ride below 4K RPM for the first 500 kms (this means stay below 64 kmph in 5th gear)
                            OIL CHANGE HERE

Next 500 kms, keep varying the throttle from 4K-6K RPM (ie, 64 kmph to 96 kmph in 5th gear)
Air filter cleaning and other basic checks here.

After 1000 kms, you can touch 120 no doubt!

:-(....strange Hero guys....!! dont they allow you to stay back when your bike is being serviced....i suppose most of the service centers accross the country allow the owner to stay back if he/she wishes to see his bike being serviced...!! ask them for the same and get it done. Yes ive heard of the FI cleaning fluid.....i dont know the exact logic behind it....but i suppose it is like that harpic ka Ball that we used to get a few years ago....which we just have to put in the Kitchen sink and it clears off the pipe..:-)...haha jokes apart...bro i feel the FI fluid will just clean your Fuel Pump......but what about the fuel filter ( it usually has a good amount of mud n debris)....and im sure the fuel tank will also not be cleaned with it...!! I suggest you to get it done manually....if you want read my post of cleaning it once again or even take a print out of it and sit besides the SVC guys when they do it for you:-)....they cannot deny brother...its your right brother...!!!

Most of the riderd having the zmr wont suggest you getting the reflectors off...thers a member out here...i forgot his name....he has projectors on but now regrets getting his reflectors off..:-)
And for getting the HID get in touch with Navnish nagesh....a member of xbhp...and also can find him on fb....tourergear is the name of his store...!! ive got my set up from him....He is from bangalore and ships ordesrs across the country...ive got a 50w ballast.....4300k bixenon HID...the harness and a 1 year warranty...!! and no a setting at the proper focal point wont hamper the oncoming vehicle ...but if you use upper or flash...!! Youre sure to get a lot of bad words from the guys on the opposite side...:-) Its Powerfull....!!
Now coming to top speed...!! bhai...reaching top speed on the zmr requires a lot of conditions ...some natural and some controllable...like.....wind direction,Surface of the road, temprature of the tarmac ( Heated tar gives good grip but reduces top speed..)...then tyre pressure, seating position (aerodynamics), etc.....I have personally reached 127kmph only once in two years....and i dont want to do it again....thoda darr lagta hai..!! The official top speed of the bike is 127kmph...so 120kmph is a fairly good speed in natural conditions..!! And believe me brother ive cruised with many sports bikes....Ninja 650, R1, fireblade 1000, etc...and on any indian road....cruising speeds of 110-115 are very confortable and controllable...!! yeah when my biking gang doesnt have me they cruise at higher speeds :-)...by the way i have my Biking group.."RoadRunnerz".
Now coming to the spark plug...to be very fran..the spark plug and engine oil are two things i can never compare the performance of with their respective other companies...!! But yes if ur stock on your oil...get it changed every 1000kms....!! now coming to plug...Only a physical verification of the plug can tell whether its worn out or can still do a few more kilometres...:-) but yes getting it out and cleaning the carbon should be a good affair at good intervals. Ive done 14000kms and still havent changed my Spark PLug...!!...

Nopes Bro i personally havent seen anything as such on a ZMR....and be assured that incase of a fall your feet would be completely safe as during a fall at high speed the bikes tends to slide...and when it impacts usually the extended handle bar and the foot peg takes the impact and the bike moves....but yeah if you talk of trying to save your fairing during a fall....i have no idea of how to get the thing done...!! ive seen a bar being sent through and through the fairing on a R15 V2.....it required to make holes in the fairing on both the sides...and then the bar was affixed to the main chasis below the handle...!! Dint look good at all...!!! but yeas a small investment that can save huge amounts during crash (damage to fairing). And the Ninja's you are talking about....those sculpted thing u call are known as frame sliders.....they are two different Big bolt kinda things that when affixed come out from ur bikes dimension. They are affixed on both the sides of the bike...Front fairing..!! so that in case of a skid ...the bike slides on the sliders saving the impact to reach the Fairing.....Different form of sliders come for different bikes....which are accordingly bolted into the mounting bolts near the engine..by removing a previous bolt...!! at present im in office cant post images :-)...but wil do so when i go home...!!

                                Praj, u're slightly mistaken here.

In 5th, 1000 RPMs is in the multiple of 16 kmph always. (for ZMR)

                                All figures in fifth gear

                                1000 RPM - 16kmph
                                2000 RPM - 32 kmph
                                3000 RPM - 48 kmph
                                4000 RPM - 64 kmph
                                5000 RPM - 80 kmph
                                6000 RPM - 96 kmph
                                7000 RPM -112 kmph
                                8000 RPM - 128 kmph
