Youre sure to get a lot of bad words from the guys on the opposite side...:-) Its Powerfull....!!
    Now coming to top speed...
thanks a lot dude, you must be knowing a lot about bikes
ya,i have dropped the idea of installing projectors
i will surely contact him but one doubt does it drain the battery?
i am happy with 120 but i had done 127 on a zigzag road before at the beginning so was bit worried. i guess it was because of the heavy wind.
    all other things was ok
physically i have idea about spark plug but is there any necessity to change it every 10k kms, i am planning to change it to iridium.
roadrunnerz is a nice name,i always dreamed of being a part of a bikers gang but 80 percent of my friends are not interested about bikes.
anyways am happy being part of xbhp.

    Praj, u're slightly mistaken here.

In 5th, 1000 RPMs is in the multiple of 16 kmph always. (for ZMR)

    All figures in fifth gear

    1000 RPM - 16kmph
    2000 RPM - 32 kmph
    3000 RPM - 48 kmph
    4000 RPM - 64 kmph
    5000 RPM - 80 kmph
    6000 RPM - 96 kmph
    7000 RPM -112 kmph
    8000 RPM - 128 kmph
i am not strong in technical things
i said it because my zmr reaches 75kms at 5th gear at 5k rpm
should it be 80 kms instead is it?

You can always plan a trip with like-minded Bangaloreans. What say about a new year trip? Enough time in hand to plan and arrange!
Spark plugs - Replace every 12-15K kms.
      Air filter - 10K kms
Oil - Depends... Discussed at length earlier. Maybe 1500 (mineral), 3000 (SS) or 4000 (FS).
Fork oil - Every 25K kms
HID will require a relay, else it'll drain the battery. Relay costs 20 bucks.
Drop the projector plan. It'll ruin the reflector as mentioned by our "RoadRunner" Paddy bro!

i am not strong in technical things

Yes, it should indeed be 80. Check properly, it'll be 80 only!
      My pointers here...

It my passion brother...!! A Finance Analyst by Profession....but a true bike lover by Mind, Body, Heart and Soul...!!!

And no such issues of battery draining....as correctly pointed out by Divya...a relay does the work...!! You get everything in the connecting harness if you order it from Navnish...!:-)
If you want il talk to Navnish for your concern....he will also get the connection done for you...!! I exactly dont know where he resides in bengaluru but...:-(

And its an easy set up but time consuming coz of the fairing of the bike......You need to remove the whole upper console of the fairing....to get the HID bulb in...coz it wont enter the socket like the stock bulb as the Bixenon hid is a little longer in length (Dont worry it wont touch any part of the headlight casing once plugged into the socket:-))and will get stuck due to the main chasis bar of the handle..!!

          • Its a long time being online
Though i have net access on mobile in the mean time but its really difficult & bandwidth consuming to check this thread on mobile as most of the time other owners quote whole posts , result in loading of similar content & picture more time .
Just check the page where PSD pics are posted by some owners & similar posts are quoted fully by other resulting in loading all those pictures again & again
Please try to remove some content from quote guys .

@ antan shank, is that golden Karizma EMBELM similar in size with the Karizma stickers present on ZMR's rear cowls ? I am planning to stick those EMBELM there . And is the golden color good ? Is washing create any issue to that color ? I am asking cause i wash my ZMR Daily .

@ veryhiphop the tank protector you getting , be sure to check that there part number ends with "ZA" cause for black bike the part number for that strip ends with "ZA" Having Red color for Z & Panther Black Metalic for surronding .

@ padfootmooney2006 U sure there is no problem for oncoming traffic on single lane highway ? Cause I think the NH3 is not completely straight . So the oncoming focus creates some problem as i faced on NH3 several times . And some months i asked you something & you said you will check it & tell . Have you checked it ?

@ all got some gadgets for my ZMR . Which includes Projectors , Bulbs , Angel Eyes , Digital Voltmeter . Check attached picture .
But unable to find H7 Connector yet

Hey yes brother....im quite sure that if you have your beam in the right are it should not create a problem to the oncoming traffic...!! The reflector setup does not have the cut outline like the projector setup that helps in setting up the beam so that it does not point towards the opposite rider/drivers eyes..!! But still you can make adjustments by pointing your bike to a wall by keeping sufficient distance....posted a fw pages ago the procedure to set the beam...!! And mate...when it comes to Night riding there is always some light factor that has an impact brother.....!! You cannot expect the vehicles to completely switch off their headlights....!! so with they being on a little reflection from their headlights cone will surely trap your vision.....and hence night rides are said to be a little tricky...!:-)

Already done that & discovered there are 2 #10 bolts to adjust the foucs other than the star shaped screw mentioned in owners manual .
But instead of adjusting they help to mess with focus .

Yes that is what i am saying there would be some problem . And it turns big with the illumination of HID . That is why mostly projector's are suggested for HID's . Check http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...d-etc-387.html

Humm agreed brother ive been through the thread long ago while i opted for my HID's......yes Projectors are installed to gather the light and concentrate it to a fixed amount of road area.....actually it has its pros and cons...one big drawback i personally found with the projectors (P220)...making sharp curves on a ghat terrain is difficult during night...because already the headlight console doesnt move with the handle bar...!! so you already enter the turn with your beam facing towards the front and not towards the roads trajectory.....!! this issue ive faced also with the zmr...but still the huge console allows ample light spread as compared to the projectors for visibility towards the riding trajectory during curves....Again its a personal opinion....as i said before it has it pros and cons both....!! No offence once again to the fastest indian the P220.....!!! But i prefer the reflectors ......

                  Cheers...!!
And whether it be day or night...projector or reflectors...RIDE SAFE is the Motto....:-)...!!!!

Special thanks to Sanjeev, Satyajit Da and Pinaki da, for all the suggestions and showing such patience in explaining each and every details of Engine Oil..

All this time I was using mineral Engine Oil (Servo Goben 10W30). Now changed to semi-Synthetic Engine Oil (Shell Advance 4T AX7).. Have anyone used it?? It was earlier Shell Advance VSX4..

Dint look good at all...!!! but yeas a small investment that can save huge amounts during crash (damage to fairing). And the Ninja's you are talking about....those sculpted thing u call are known as frame sliders.....they are two different Big bolt kinda things that when affixed come out from ur bikes dimension. They are affixed on both the sides of the bike...Front fairing..!! so that in case of a skid ...the bike slides on the sliders saving the impact to reach the Fairing.....Different form of sliders come for different bikes....which are accordingly bolted into the mounting bolts near the engine..by removing a previous bolt...!! at present im in office cant post images :-)...but wil do so when i go home...!!

Don't have any idea bro but it all depends on sellers skill & knowledge of buyer , as 1 guy i know sold his 2010 White ZMR for 1 lack in September 2011 . Bought 2011 Edition White ZMR used it for 3 month then again sold it for 1,05,000/- Now he is waiting for 2012 Edition ZMR to hit showroom here .

                              • Loving the discussion going on here. Me too tried fitting frame sliders around 6 months back. Frankly speaking, the fairing is designed in such a way that it'd require a big hole in the fairing to fit the slider to the chassis. The idea didn't look good to me, hence dropped the plan.

SBKs have more aftermarket friendly body-mechanicals-electricals design. They know (guys at the factory production line) that the SBK will be modified sooner or later, hence provisions are there.

So far so good. PSD is leech on roads, any season.

Mileage on PSD - 2100 kms
                                Punctures - None
Air pressure maintained - 35 psi. (used to keep 33 in the stock one, but this being soft compound, I'm a bit skeptical)
                                Average/mileage - 41 kmpl (city), 47 kmpl (highways)

BUT, its NOT meant for off-roading at all. Very prone to punctures (2 friends on FZ got their 130 section PSDs ruptured on the way to Nandi hills in a small off-roading section).

Regarding air filter, replace it soon. Don't wait for crises to happen. 10-12K is recommended to avoid problems. It may well go upto 25K, but who knows how much it'll strain the engine!

OEM air filter for ZMR costs 236 bucks in HMC SVC, and 250/- elsewhere (road side)
                                Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
