Which oil in Mobil is better in terms of performance regarding acceleration? Cause i read somewhere that type of oil matters a lot in performance of a bike and am interested in acceleration.. And what would be the cost of it? And how much quantity oil should i drain/replace?
More than the quality, its the peace of mind. For me, Mobil1 10w40 and Shell Advanced 10w40 FS are almost head to head, with Mobil1 taking the lead marginally.
Shell FS costs around 740 bucks and Mobil1 around 800 (got it for 795/- if I'm not wrong).

I suggest you to take your bike to a good mechanic and see what he does, how he does.
You need to have all tools needed for changing oil yourself. You shouldn't be stranded in between the oil change process (or any DIY for that matter) just because you don't have a size 17 (to access the drain bolt) or a size 22 (to access the rear wheel) spanner. [merely examples]

Best mileage and acceleration - go for the normal 10w30 mineral/SS only. But that shall go bad in 1000kms and engine would heat up in B2B traffic with the gears behaving like a b!tch.

With 10w40, you get a good balance. For summer season, you can have 20w40 oil too, but winters suggest usage of 10w40 hence eliminating any issues with cold start. (ya ya ZMR has an FI tech, so what? Cold starts may not be the issue for the rider, but y not make it easier for our rides too?)

to open the drain/tappet bolt you need size 17 spanner not 22. 22 is used for adjusting chain slackness.

So now shall buy Mobil10W40 and give it to a local mech..One bottle is enough or do i have to add more? Another silly question.. Is it FS or SS?

And regarding the colours, till now it's good. Completed 2 months with it, and most importantly washes the bike every sunday... As far as my knowledge, the emblem doesn't loss it's colour but not sure about the shine.. It cost me 1200/-, I feel the coast is for the colour I assume than the making cost..

Bhai, that was only an example. I don't use a spanner to open the drain bolt. Rather I use a T-wrench which has a longish arm with sizes 17 and 18 to open bolts. Spanners are used only for the chain cover, swingarm bushes, wheel axle and suspension bolts. Don't know about others, but I find the drain bolt a li'l difficult to reach/access (even after opening the lower fairing), hence I use the T-wrench.

Mobil1 10w40 is FS. You'll need 2 bottles. Because you'll be flushing the old oil out completely. And later it'll take in approx 1.4L fresh oil. Are you coming down to Dream M/c for this or somewhere else near your place?

Umm... No issues with the battery i think.. cause everything is working perfectly fine.. I did face the issue of meter display flickering in the early days of purchasing the bike but that was resolved back then only.. Now there's no such issue with the display.. Horns work fine, self motor works fine too..

I haven't faced the issue again yet.. So hoping there's nothing wrong... wil keep u guys updatee if there's any problem...

do you open the lower faring panel to open the drain bolt??? actually i do it without opening the lower faring so i use ring spanner to do it.

                      Yes I do.
Hmm.... Something to look out for now... I don't have a ring spanner. I have the following tools with me:
                      1. Double open end wrenches (normal spanners) - sizes 12 to 24
                      2. The T-wrench - sizes 17, 18
                      3. Multi utility screw driver set - 30 different mountable screw patterns on a common screw driver head
                      4. A few calipers here and there (never used them)
                      5. The basic ZMR kit that came with the bike.
                      6. Set of 6 Allen keys of which I have used only 2 sizes (size 5, 6) on the bike.

What do we call ring spanner in hindi? The shopkeeper won't understand the term "ring spanner". I know what it looks like, but I have to explain it to the shop keeper, right?
God, it never struck me while purchasing the toolkit that I could use a ring spanner.

thats a hard one. take a picture of it in your cellphone. there is a 22 no spanner in the toolkit take it as a sample.

Moreover, when moving from mineral to SS or FS for that matter, you should drain ALL the oil in that box. It's a 1.4L unit.
I remember draining around 1340 ml mineral oil (measured in a beaker) when I moved to SS from mineral.
no, i changed the oil recently dude
padfoot was right about what he said below
changed the oil, have put only 1.3 lts
also got the air filter which is 220rs,have to change it today.
i didnt know it was available in a set,i thought it was just the filter

                              Procedure:
                              Remove seat...
Remove the left cowl that has its screws below the seat borders and one near the rear suspension ...and the big screw that is affixed to the side...
Now you can see a bid black colour chamber.....having around 6 bolts...(You will need a T-spanner for opening it...i suppose size 10)...remove that black panel...!! remove your old air filter....and fix your new one...then fix everything back...!!
If your old air filter isnt gone real dirty....clean it with a spray of air....and keep it as a spare filter..( I usually keep all my good spares..planning a Ladakh ride soon..so may need it for that:-))
