Did a coastal trip of 600kms in two days. I DEFINITELY have no regrets buying this bike. Why? I tasted life @100kmph and it was fantastic. I held 100-115 on the fourways and it was absolutely effortless (Though trying anything beyond 120 is useless
). The cold climate made sure of no heating business. The idle rpm didn't fluctuate much (about 100rpm). Only small niggle is that the visor makes a slight vib noise around 5k rpm (around 80kmph).
PS: Still running stock. I wonder how it would be if I shifted to 20W40!Tour De Thekkady

Guys, I'm getting a very slight squeaking hissing noise whenever I move the front wheel slowly. I remember I had the same problem with my Hunk as well. Where do I need to lubricate to fix this?
Also I noticed some thick black liquid deposited just below the golden engine on the left side of the bike. What does this mean? Is it the oil that is leaking? My ZMR is just 1.3K old.

Wipe the disc with a wet cloth. Sound specially when turned slowly from a disc break comes due to dust particles between the disc and the pads. Its absolutely common. Regarding the black liquid, if you posted a pic, it would be more clear. Might be oil leak but nothing serious. Regarding the PSD tire for rear, if it is puncture prone, then isn't that unsafe as well? What would do if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere on a long trip in the night? Please advice.

Regarding PSD ask divya bro. He's done i guess 3k or 5k kms on that without a hitch. I guess. But when the decision comes to me (which it has) then i would try for alternatives and if none are good, i'd go for PSD. It sticks to the road pretty well then any other IMO. However i'd carry a puncture repair kit i my bike. Other tyres are available of which i have no idea. Priority wise i would say PSD first. Others can enlighten us on the next best or a better tire..Originally posted by sarkartheruler View PostThanks for the reply. Will post pic on the leakage.

Holds good for any TL tire, but yes; PSD is puncture prone. Regarding oil leakage, its the rubber valve connecting the engine getting bust. Take it to SVC, nothing major. Will cost you 30 odd bucks.Originally posted by sarkartheruler View PostThanks for the reply. Will post pic on the leakage.

If you're more into touring, I'd suggest 10w40 instead of 20w40. For 50:50 city/highway usage, 20w40 is good.Originally posted by harishkumarko View PostDid a coastal trip of 600kms in two days. I used to get the squeaking noise too.. i tot it was the disc noise.. I cleaned the disc but still with the same squeaking noise.. so I took it the local mechanic and he found that the front Mud guard was making that noise.. and yup.. he tightened the front mud guard and the sound was gone.. by the way.. even though the nut was tight enough to keep the mudguard from vibrating.. it was loose enough to make that annoying sound.. so in case that noise doesn't go off even after cleaning the disc.. try to tighten the mudguard boltsOriginally posted by sarkartheruler View PostGuys, I'm getting a very slight squeaking hissing noise whenever I move the front wheel slowly. Yesterday got my ZMR after service for the few issues appearing from last 3/4 months (i.e engine hiccups at a constant speed below 50, cold start issue and engine noise appear after engine get hot)....last week HM engineer gave me call for inspection of my ZMR at SVC...
They have changed the whole engine head with a new one...hiccup issue was due to no proper fuel/air getting to the engine....
i have not much inquired about the parts/issue with SVC/HM engineer..currently not riding ZMR...will be doing in this week for office going...then only give them a proper feedback for all resolution...
but yes; engine has no noise...smooth as butter....i cant remember when my ZMR has the smoothness as it is now...it was not even when i buy my ZMR....

Consider that as a b'day gift from HMC. AFAIK, the engine costs well over 30k. Nice to hear that the SVC was co-operative and that you're a happy ZMRian again.Originally posted by veryhiphop View Postjust 58 Rs....all covered under warranty....however my 3 year warranty expires on 17th of this month....but they covered because issue/complaint is going on from last 3/4 months...

I used to go to Pasupathi motors.. but now that I moved to Indirapuram.. its too far.. so i give it in Noida.. gonna get my babe serviced next month after salary is credited
This time I have lots of work for them.. The Battery not getting charged properly when the headlight is turned on for about 45 mins at night during the long rides.. and going to get the stock headlights back and remove the Projectors.. then the Chain sprockets.. going back to stock from P220's 36 teeth rear sprocket.. gonna ask them to check the oil cooler and get them to check the wiring completely so that I don't face any issues during the Long Tour planned up ahead.. tighten up all the bolts
to reduce the vibration noise (I know its impossible but I always ask them to do it and its fine for few days) gonna get the Nitrogen air filled into the tires.. After the service(w/o oil change) i will get the Motul filled...
