Stock rear tire isn't very bad, not too good either. Its decent for city and highway use in all seasons except rains. It doesn't provide enough confidence in cornering being a thin tire. But wear and tear is marginal because its a hard compound tire. I'd suggest you to use the stock tire for the time being, get used to the power and ergonomics of the bike first.
I used the tire for 17k kms before upgrading to Pirelli Sport Demon 110. Mileage has dropped by a mere 1 kmpl thereafter. Hence, nothing to worry on that part.
Do post the pics of your new bike soon.
Thanks Divya and Abhi for your valuable advice.Originally posted by abhi7013 View Postwelcome to the herd!! take care during first 1k kms. Till you get used to the bike, maintain the stock tires as divya bro suggested. And do post the pics of your ride.. Have a healthy ownership experience!
Got my new ZMR on Monday evening (Dec 24th '12). Taking your suggestions into due consideration, I am sticking with the stock tyres, and I must say they are pretty good. Will think about changing them at a later stage.
And as per Divya's advice :
I am riding at or below 4k rpm, but I must add that it's not easy to hold the throttle at this petty speed. I have a constant urge to take it past thisOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostFor the running in period, maintain below 4K RPM for 500 kms. But you MUST occasionally hit past 5-5.5K RPM in short bursts for a few seconds. For the next 500 kms, again ride within 4K RPM, but increase those short bursts to 6-6.5K RPM.
Get your oil replaced in the first service at (or before) 500 kms.
Post 1000 kms, you can take your bike till 7-7.5K RPM till your odo reaches 2k kms.
P.S - Accelerate linearly and don't go to high speeds for long intervals. 10-15 seconds is enough.
Post 2000-2500 kms (after second service), try red lining in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears from time to time.
RIDE SAFE. Ride hard, but NOT like a maniac!
.... But I guess it's for the best.
Anyways, here are some pics of my new ZMR:
@NH8 in the evening at about 6 pm
I tried my best to capture some catchy photos of my ZMR.
I hope you'll like these pics....

you can spray wd40 and slight oil on the connection of suspension to the swing arm on both side, helps in smooth movementOriginally posted by hondarider View Posthey guys...
I recently made a short trip till rajasthan... i.e. Gurgaon till Rajasthan... It was a good experience, however, i need tips in improvising my riding skills on damaged roads and maintaining my ZMR as well...
Can anyone tell me how to keep the wheels and suspension right in extreme bad conditions???
the wheels if you need to clean , you can buy any alloy wheel cleaner like armorall , should be good enoughM3:15

it is advisable to change the stock tyre to michellin m45 or pirelli sport demon, the earlier you change better the value you will get for your stock mrf tyre ,when i had karizma and zmr i had changed it immediately off the showroom, no worries to do soOriginally posted by Simran Deep Singh View PostHello Everyone
Simran Gill this side... I am new to xbhp.
My first bike was Pulsar 150 DTSi, 2006 model.
However, I booked a Karizma ZMR (black) on Dec 21st and my new Karizma ZMR is due for delivery tomorrow.
Please allow me to ask something, for which I need urgent suggestions...
I am planning to change my stock tyres (especially rear) on my Karizma ZMR, right after delivery; since I have been reading forums on xbhp and found that the stock rear tyre in Karizma ZMR does not provide enough grip.
Is it right to do so at such an early stage?? Or, should I wait for a few months??
All suggestions and comments will be greatly appreciated...M3:15

Jay bhai, I think "veryhiphop" posted the pics you were asking for....Originally posted by Jay Kumar Azad View Postcan you please post the pics of the new Z sticker on tank and the FI sticker on fairing.
But still, I too would definitely capture the Z sticker and FI sticker on the fairing, in my next pics....
Arre Sir, now you have got me confused...Originally posted by worrisomebear View Postit is advisable to change the stock tyre to michellin m45 or pirelli sport demon, the earlier you change better the value you will get for your stock mrf tyre ,when i had karizma and zmr i had changed it immediately off the showroom, no worries to do so
I had made up my mind to use the stock tyres for quite some time, as per the suggestions of fellow Xbhpians...
Now, I guess I am beginning to doubt my decision.
But, as Divya said, I would like to ride on the stock tyres till I get used to the new motorcycle, as I have upgraded from Pulsar 150; what say you Sir??
Please suggest quickly, because I have already done about 250 km on my ZMR stock tyres...
And Yes, please do mention if I need to make some modifications to my chainset (cutting/removal/welding, etc.), or any other areas in my ZMR, in order to fit a wider tyre (110/120) ??? And what size of rear tyre can be fit into the ZMR, without any modifications...Last edited by Simran Deep Singh; 12-28-2012, 09:44 PM.
