What kinda noise ur getting from the brakes..!! If its a a light tick kinda sound from the levers....dont be worried its the lever that gets pressed against the switch to turn on your tail light when you break. But if you said you get the sound from the disc console and the break piston(golden device) get it checked!!! First try spraying some water from a pipe with a little force into the disc pads...if they have mud or something it might happen...!! Also clean your discs with a wet cloth...!! And ride for a few kilometres and the sound should go!! But if it doesnt....get it checked..!! :-)Originally posted by sud92 View Posti am getting noise whenever i use the brake is that normal for a new bike??? my friends told me its normal for a new bikeRegards-

@sud92 - she's a beauty even with Ignitor's RVMs. But glad to know you got ZMR's today.
Brake noise is normal for the initial 40 odd kms. Remember, brakes require proper run in too!
There are 3 kinds of noise that come from the braking mechanism:-
1. The slight TICK - expertly explained by Paddy bhai.
2. Screech noise - Dust particles stuck between pads.
3. Squeal - Brake pads touching the disc. Usually happens in the rear brake when people tend to keep their legs on the pedal/brake lever all the time. Else, the pads can be loosened a bit.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Hi to all
It has been over a month wit my ZMR since i posted for queries last time . . I did 992 on the odo . . Got my First service also finished . .
1)Off late i have observed tat air in the tyres (29Psi frnt n 30Psi back ) gets reduced by 5-6 psi in each tyre in less than 4-5 days . . Is there a defect wit my tublesstyres ??
2) I am unable to get the bike to neutral gear . . Only after some shifting up n down from 2nd to 1st n few trails i am sucessful . . During First service i put forward this problem but they couldnt rectify it and gave me an answer that it will be rectified as i put on some more KM on the odo and if not solved they said they will solve it in 2nd service . . I am clueless on this issue
. . What may b the problem ???
I would be also haapy if you can provide me the link within this thread wherein this type of query was raised n answered

hello guys
have a small query
after my fall 2 weeks back, facing some problems like vibrations, stickers peeled off, scratches on the fairings, right indicator is working but i guess the mounting has broken and it causes lot of vibrations so i need to remove the fairing to check it and how much time will it take to remove it?
will spares consists of all the equipments sufficient to remove the fairing??
any idea about the cost of repaint on the fairing ie pearl white
do you suggest me to replace the fairing or get it repainted
as i am removing the fairing for the first time ill not be stuck in the middle while again placing it back right, anything to take care of
as i had applied fevi quick between the joints, what to use to remove the gum
can i use hot water, will it come out ?
@divya : i would have joined but riding to mysore and to udupi which was planned before
looking forward to future rides

A 50 rupees job. Take it to a tyre shop. Ask them to put slime jelly on the tire rim sides (assuming no rim bends). Get your rim checked too.

Is it more prominient when the bike gets hot? In heavy traffic? Then its normal. 10w30 oil is too thin. You'll get used to it in sometime. And you'll be able to slot in neutral more often. Even after 22000 kms, I can slot into neutral successfully at one go only 80% of the time.
Precisely why I had my doubts with the feviquik thingy. Yes, the housing is broken. The rattling shall come down to zero only with a new fairing, but you can use extra washers to tighten the indicator mounts.Originally posted by Praj zm View Posthello guys

How'll you open the fairing (with feviquik-ed joints) is alien to me! Won't hot water harm the plastic and electricals and electronics?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

All you need is a star screw driver and a number 10/11 spanner (not sure of the exact number). I never used the toolkit provided and it still lies in my old home in Chennai. I use my own tools.Originally posted by Praj zm View Postwhat do you suggest me to do then dude
i will try to remove the fairing but spares consists of all equipments right
You can use warm water on the glue. Also, acetone (nail polish remover) will help, but then it will result in little color fade.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
