    • Wow... So, I thought this website closed and was pretty sadened. This is a pleasant surprise...

So anyways, I got my brand new ZMR (Red) from Adyar Motors and I'm totally loving it... Done just 200 km so far. Will post some pictures soon.

Few niggles: The tool kit seems very inadequate. There isn't even a spanner, to adjust the throttle freeplay.
Engine knocking seems annoying in lower gears. Maybe it is just me.
The usual motorycle covers don't seem to fit this (due to the windshileld mounted mirrors). Any pointers to get a good cover (from dust).

At how many litres of petrol does the fuel indicator start blinking? It was blinking when I got it. Put 7 litres. Drove just 140 km and again it started blinking. So mileage = 20

As advised by many here, I'm using mostly the front brake. However it doesn't seem capable of stopping the bike completely. Will need to do some testing on that.

i will try to remove the fairing but spares consists of all equipments right
Spares are given for name sake.. Only one screw-driver came in handy. If you have a star screw-driver then most of the nuts can be removed. However i suggest you to replace the entire fairing. It costed me 2.5-3k approx for the entire upper and lower fairing(one side). Since already you have used a quick-glue and also your indicators are loose, take the bike to ASC and let them handle it. Removing and checking may not solve all the problems like loose indicators and the noise which you get due to vibes. Also a repaint would not work. the ZMR stickers will have to be removed. There's no way of doing it for a particular area. Cause the difference will clearly be seen. And cost of repainting, taking trouble of you seperately removing the fairing, loose indicator, etc are all just not feasible. Add extra and replace the entire fairing.

Would you believe that for an entire first week, i never put the bike in nutral when the engine was on? Only when i parked it in my house, i used to struggle and put it to neutral! I remember wasting atleast 2 whole minutes trying to put it to neutral and as a result, in the end, my clutch wire got cut and the bike jumped. Luckily managed to hold it. Rite now the clutch cable on my bike is a local one. I've completed 25k kms and local clutch cable is been on my bike for past 24.2 kms!! Only <1k kms i've used and i was not eligible for warranty as i gave the bike for first service in an automated private service centre. And believe me, even now only half the time am able to shift to neutral!

Nope. Stick to stock setup. Saferider ABS is a mechanical device, not electronic. We cannot put ANY kind of ABS on the ZMR.

Engine knocking seems annoying in lower gears. Maybe it is just me. Normal with new bikes. Keep the revs > 2.5k always in every gear.

I got one from ebay for 400 bucks which has slots for RVMs too.

It starts blinking at approx 3.5 litres. Mileage shall improve with 1st service.

Keep practicing braking. 70:30 ratio seems apt.

                    Welcome to xbhp!
Change filter every 10k kms and spark plugs every 12k kms for better engine life.

If your air filter is clean enough then they would not recommend you to change it. For the next service, tell them you need to change it. Also if possible be there or find out some way to verify if they really have replaced or not.

But in the SVC ,where i give my bike for service, they do not allow us to see the servicing.they just ask us to leave the bike in the morning and collect it by evening.Since the servicing is good,I did not try other SVC.

the airfilter is supposed to be change at 10 thousand kms, but in dusty environments u have to change it even earlier at 7 thousand kms, change oil every 1000 kms , dont follow service station and change every 2500 kms...

spark plug and rear brake liner is also supposed to be changd at 10k kms

As of now, I have changed the engine oil in the sixth service.I also discussed with the mechanic about air filter. He said it is good and will change it at 12000 km.I change the engine oil for every 1500 km.My bike is still running on the original factory fitted disk pads.since they are still in good condition and provide good bite,I dint change it.Will check about it in my next service at 12000 km.

BlackPanther plonked in the ZMR's handle bars on the ZMA and this is the end result, cant use the handle lock. Just the handle bar was replaced, still using the ZMA's T.

You need to cut the extra length of circular rods ( don't know exact name of it ) to get proper height so the handle lock will work .
Done same thing on the friends Karizma-R while converting it to ZMR . Will ask the mechanic if you need more info.

Cause last time when i have discussion about fixing old type RVM on ZMR , i tried passion's RVM but found on full turn they will get jammed in wind screen . If Switch Gears not lowered .
