I had my bike fallen and broke the right bottom cowl and the V plastic holding the fairing. The silencer portion got a nut loose and the engine had an oil leak after the fall. Gave it for service and my trusted hero service gave my bike back after fixing everything at just Rs. 1200 including labor. The supervisor informed me that, he had just tightened the nut that caused the oil leak and it is still in damaged condition. He had ordered the new nut and it will reach in a week or two. Now after riding for about 500 kms after the fixation, my bike vibrates a lot @ higher revs. Earlier I constantly ride as speeds above 80kmph because mostly my rides are on highways with occasional speed bursts upto 115kmph. I had felt vibrations only somewhere near 50-60kmph and afterwards the bike was smooth as silk. But now, if I take her anywhere above 70kmph, the vibration is evident. Footpegs at both ends vibrates, even footpegs at the back side too. And the bike is getting hotter. Is it due to the oil drop or something? I can still find some oil at the lower opening in the fairing. Please reply guys.
Why ride if the nut/seal is broken? Wait for that one week!
Because, in this one week of riding with the oil leak, there are chances of oil level reducing way too much. May cause a seizure.

Ok, and only 1200 for the broken fairing + maintenance + labor?
Did they change the engine oil as well? If yes, then maybe they poured in the normal HH 10w30 mineral oil (not sure if you used the same earlier too) and that doesn't help damping vibes.

Moreover, due to the fall there would be many components in need of inspection. Not only the fairing, but all foot pegs, engine mounts, plastic fittings etc.
Get your bike stripped and re-fit at the SVC once. Vibes will say good bye. Use Xw40 oil.
    Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

The bike was indeed stripped off and refitted. Upto about 500 kms of riding there was no vibs at all. lower fairing costed me around 700, V plastic piece around 200 and rest for labour. The fairing came with the sticker too. I used to use the hero specified oil only as my bike is within the free service period. How to check the oil level? Is it possible without removing the fairing? Also, is my 3 year warranty void now as my bike had a fall?
RVM is a good tool to see your buddys losing behind while racing :)

They kinda slip in rains and are not confidence inspiring in the hills. For a city rider (not into touring), stock tires shall suffice.

I used the stock tires till ~17k before switching to stickier rubber. These decisions should be taken based on requirements and not on wants/wishes!
but let him ride for few thousand kms with the stock so that he will get to know to handle zmr at its worse and when he gets a better tire installed, he will feel the difference.
and i too have rode in all kinds of roads and done many trips, i agree with you that we will lack confidence but we will become a better rider

There is a dip-stick on the right hand side of the engine. It has a black cap. You must ensure that the oil stays between min and max levels marked on that dip stick.
AFAIK, the warranty stays. Its not void!

Ha ha ha bro... How can I stop someone from doing anything. Even I suggest people to get used to the bike's ergonomics first with STOCK parts. Then they may go for replacement later.

I have had this very strange experience with my completely stock ZMR for arnd 18000kms now....!!! (Got the Oil changed to Motul Fully synthetic and Spark plugs to Gpower 2 months ago)....
Ever since i got my ride...fellow members have been asking me to change the rubbers....i also made up my mind a few times...but then dint find the rubber i wanted...!!! But to my surprise....my bike has never disappointed me with its tarmac suiting capabilities till now..!! I have been riding on Highways ever since...!! In the rains also ive ridden the bike for around 400kms at a stretch....heavy rains and damp conditions....!! but i never felt any issues with traction or breaking......!!!
I have been making fair amount of leaned corners on all my rides...but it never disappointed me...!!!

but still 99% of my fellow riders on xbhp say the stock tyres are bad...!! but frankly no issues for me as yet.......!!!

              same here with me
even i have leaned my bike with the stock but it definitely skids in muddy condition even if you brake slightly
dont know if its common with all the rubbers

You know what, riders were shocked when I told them I rode on stock tires for 17k kms.

They were decent tires. I had many slips under hard braking in rain (no crash fortunately, just a skid here and there), but the worst was when I experienced tires slip in the hills once. That day onward, I wanted to put stickier rubber on the bike.

Now after I put better shoes, I realize that yes, senior ZMA/ZMR riders were right about tires.

yes there would be no depreciation plans, but that would result in higher premiums, i suggest stick to normal insurance and dont think about value insurance guys have determined

i would recommend changing tyres asap, we had it swapped on day 1. the stock tyre does not have a centre groove, the only reason they are there is cost and they can last for entire warranty period. they are no good from wet grip or cornering.

betergo for pirelli sport demon or m45, good rubber and good helmet are life saving

SVC offered teflon coat for some 300 bucks or so. That's just day light robbery. Don't go for such gimmicks.
Get yourself a car shampoo and waxpol wax based polish. You're good to go.

You may get your bike coated at 3M car care. 3M is a reputed brand chain and they coat 2 wheelers as well as 4 wheelers. You can get your tank coated by them.
[Its a 5mm transparent coat which protects the body from scratches, cost about 1.2k for the tank alone. One time investment - worth it!]
