Oodles of respect for this sir... We kids should learn from you... Admirable!

Thinking PracticalThe Yamaha R15 V2.0 (Still my favorite in looks)
    Yamaha Fazer
    Karizma ZMR
    Honda CBR 150
Pulsar 220NS - it has to be either P220/P200NS

    Testing Phase
I was shooting to any of the bike showrooms near me whenever I get a chance. I got a chance of test riding all these dream machines except the 220NS, either from the bike showrooms or from my friends circle. I loved the Yamaha R15 because of its extreme looks and had an eye on the same as the first priority. But when I rode it, the whole image on the bike was lost. The bike was absolutely a performance machine, which lacked comfort big time. Also, the bike was extremely meant for youngsters who generally ride single, without a pillion. So if there were times when I should give a lift to my mom or sis, it will be a menace, if I owned the R15 queen. Fazer, which was the next choice lacked in proportions. As I am 5.9, the bike looked too small for me. My choice was narrowed to ZMR, CBR and the 220NS. 220NS dint show any popping up in the Bajaj showrooms so soon, so I had a toss between the CBR and the ZMR. I rode both of the vehicles, and found both were equally comfortable for me, even though ZMR was a little bigger than the CBR. In terms of mileage, from internet, I got an idea that the ZMR used to give a mileage between 40 to 45 and the CBR between 38 to 43. And the ZMR was about 20K cheap in my pocket. So finally I took my fairy queen, the ZMR 223. J

    Awesome choice... Congratulations!

    Tires (3.5/5)
This is the part where, the bike appears a little cheap. The bike tires are so narrow (thick as a P150 tire) so the bike does not appear muscular from the back.

    P150 tires are thicker than a ZMR's.

    Comfort (5+/5)
This is the section where the bike throws its league racers into shame.
    True that!!!

    Mileage (5+/5)
Another explicit area where the bike outperforms its league. Even though she is fitted with a 223 cc engine at the hull, it gives mileage on par/better than a 150cc bike.

I tested shifting @3.5K RPM for a month, she returned 49.7 kmpl.

    Conclusion
Great mileage for a 223 cc bike (45-55Kmpls @ 80Kmph speed) Thanks to ECU controlled FI
    ^^+1

Low top end (128Kmph full throttle)
Hmm, but we rarely hit the race tracks. I feel 120 kmph ona highway is fast enough, though even I yearn for a higher top-end at times.

Poor RTM indicator (Sometimes the mileage shown is more than 200 lol)
Wrong!!! It just shows you the avg for the last 10 sec or so... Keep riding at a constant speed for a while, say 20-30 mins... It gives almost exact mileage values.

Last but not least, I must say, always wear a helmet whenever you are riding a bike.

Loved this part... Get yourself a full face + riding gears ASAP and burn the roads. (That you'd be doing anyway... )
    Congratulations bro!
    A few corrections highlighted.

    Ride safe.

One is a cbr fireblade 1000rr sticker, on the top of the fairing, and at the bottom, I have the honda writing in plain black font, just as seen in superbikes. Total cost for stickering: Rs 150

                      • My first post !!!!

Hi guys, thanks a ton for sharing all the valuable experiences and gyan on ZMR. Finally I booked one (black) should get it by this Friday

It all started when I sold my RE Electra350 last week . Don't ask why I sold it (and not the right forum either).

My requirement was clear - you must have guest as well coming from RE I love touring .

I was confused initially and compared n number of bikes for past 1month - KTM 200, P200NS, R15 2.0, P220F but according to me ZMR came out winner as best tourer bike so far in India. (This is purely according to my opinion )

ZMR: Best seating posture for long rides, better mileage with FI, no cold starts, gasfilled shockers add to comfort, better handling in constant 100kmpl touring speed, higher ground clearance, smooth engine compared to others, the pillion rider is treated equally (this is very important point, married guys would agree ).

Some things which I found could have been better (again according to me )
Bhp should be slightly more (may be used to RE's 25bhp ), stock headlights are less powerful seems HH wants us to tour only in day time, should come with little broader tyres.

Fairing is debatable and personal choice.. so on comments

So guys just wish me luck

                          1. Upgrade to 55W halogen - you'll see the difference. No battery upgrades needed.
                          2. Michelin M45 was the best option, but its rare (almost extinct) nowadays. Plonk in an MRF Zapper Q. Looks wider (though its also 100mm profile type, no chain cutting) and performs a little better than stock tires.

Hmm, to be frank, yes... Zapper Q is not the most favored tire for dirt riding/mud slinging... But, for the usual dusty city roads, its so so, ok ok types.

If you're planning a Leh kind of off roading, then Zapper Q is a no, else it should be fine... After all, its better than the stock ones.

P.S - I've clocked 17K and still running the skinny stock tires. Got used to the grip/no grip in rains, but it till manages to slip/skid (without a fall, touchwood) once in a while.

hey friends, please suggest best tubeless rear tyre for Karizma ZMR. I have clocked almost 8000KM and not at all happy with the stock tyre as sometime sudden braking on dirt road or wet road the bike shakes a lot
