But sadly, service ppl refuse to accept that bike is overheating because everything works perfectly and refuse to tune the engine to a slightly more richer AFR. Probably they don't know how to do it, and they insist that lean mixture doesnt overheat the engine..

So still Im runnig with the stock AFR which tuned lean to get more milage.. Can anyone tell me how to tune the PGM-Fi of ZMR to a slightly richer mixture coz I''m gonna do it for myself..
Probably the HERO guys don't have the tool for ECU mapping. So, there are less chances that you can run on rich AF mixture.

I was just wondering, since you can't tune it to rich AF ratio but, if you can use thick air filter, the AF ratio would be richer.

in that case ecu will determine the optimum setting for that air filter so the end product will be more or less same.

I don't think so bro since the ECU in ZMR is not a closed loop FI system like cars. Correct me if I am wrong.

Correction : ZMR has a closed loop FI system(having lambda sensor)which adjusts AF ratio itself..

Yes! I was wrong. The answer is here: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/pit-stop...n-bikes-7.html .

But the question remains, how to get rid of lean AF ratio in ZMR?

Yep exactly that is the question, service ppl don't know either that is probably why they simply refuse and insist that ZMR doesn't need to be tuned and cannot be tuned!

And I think Hero engineers have set the AFR to lean just to make sure that ZMR give more milage and that is why ZMR gives better milage(it is around and above 45kmpl for me) and results an extremely hot engine which a serious headache for me(for most of us probably)

Ok the big question, how to get rid of the stock AFR setting in ZMR??

ZMR has closed loop FI system and secondly there is no AFR adjusting screw present on throttle body in the service manual

if you are sure that your trouble is from AFR running lean then you have only one solution ie change the ECU under warranty.
im getting the FE of nearly 41-43 and my engine dosent run hot.

                    • Guys why don't you check the engine oil? This stuff may be the reason for getting your engine overheated. Just my thought.

                      • According to my ASC , there is a socket near fuse box with it ECU can be tune , but those tunning hardware are only available at regional offices not in any ASC .

bro the socket you are talking about is DLC aka data link connector. it is used to determine the error code from the ECU memory. AFAIK u cant reprogame the ECU but im not sure. download and read the service booklet from my signature.
