Please go through the thread for various reasons for vibration.Originally posted by Mahindra View PostMy zmr has vibration past 60kmph... i have done 6000kms... after my 3rd service am experience this problem and engine is not smooth, it justs jumps uncontrollably... and my zmr never goess beyond 120kmph.. i have done proper bike maintenance but it doesnt go beyond the speed.. help me out guys plz... i beginning to hate the bike which i loved before...
Please be more specific as regards engine problem... is it at a particular gear or rpm?
Regarding top speed... did you ever red line your bike uptil now? if not do it on few occasions... not frequently but with some gap and then try shifting at 6500-7000 rpm for each gear and i guess you will be able to touch 127-129kmph
Please note other factors like clutch settings, wind blast, weight of rider, air pressure in tyres etc need to be considered also...
Cheers

Brought my ZMR home on 24th and everyone including me are just drooling over her good looksOriginally posted by Amarish View PostGuys,
I had booked my Zmr on 26th Sept and got a call today from HH showroom, that she has arrived. I asked my bro to pick me up from office and we both arrived at the showroom to check it. Wow!! was truly pleased that I chose it over CBR...it looks Magnanimous
. As suggested by XBHPites, checked for scratches, rough edges, color issues etc but didn't observe any. Placed myself on the bike and voila
, both my feet touched flat on the ground (Being 5ft 8in was worried abt the same, yes my 92 kgs self helped too). Started the bike in neutral and listened to the pleasant engine humming. Checked the gorgeous console and Awesome..Is all I felt. However, I did observe that the front left indicator was glowing but not blinking and the rear left indicator was not glowing at all
. Brought this to HH guy's notice, he said he will get that fixed by tomorrow. I literally threatened the HH guys not to allow anyone else to touch my bike as I will be collecting my Zmr on 24th Oct (Dhanteras)
.
What all (Manual, Docs, Tools) do I need to collect from the showroom when i take my beauty home on 24th. HH guy says he will get my Zmr, her first teflon coat for the 24th.
. With short rides for the past 3 days, Yes!! I am pleased. Easy to ride (Being a novice rider myself) and comfortable, this bike sure has a presence.
As read in this forum, observed few things which I suppose are normal for ZMR.
1. Heats up in bumper to bumper traffic.
2. Neutral is very hard to find.
3. Keeping her clean will be a task.
Guys, I need to get her a cover, currently m using a big plastic which i wrap around her and keep it in place with ropes. Asked few dealers, they say they will need measurements to prepare the cover. Don't we get readymade ones for Zmr? Also, wheres the toolkit located
?

FIR, interesting. I would suggest you to go to the service center and explain the situation. Usually Insurance guys sit in service centre and should be able to help you.Originally posted by 111diablo111 View Posttoday workshop is closed but i called showroom & they told me that i'll get proper claim for the loss as per company policies..50% on fiber n 90% for tank..they told me that i might have to register an F.I.R as it got burnt..i'll comfirm this in evening..
When I visited service centre after my crash, I spoke with the insurance guy and he looked into the complete case. I did not file any FIR.
Congrats Amarish and enjoy the ride.Originally posted by Amarish View PostAs read in this forum, observed few things which I suppose are normal for ZMR.

My Answers to your Q.
1) Heating problem is with all the bikes if there is bumper to bumper traffic so that's normal.
2) After 29K kms of ride on ZMR now a days its tuff to find Neutral but overall never had a sour experince in finding the neutral. If you have the right technique then it would be easy.
3) Cleaning ZMR is easy and not difficult. I can say that because I wash it every week.
Ride Safe!!!

1. Heats up in bumper to bumper traffic.
it'll happen only for couple of first services..then you won't feel its heat as it runs cooler after that.
2. Neutral is very hard to find.
ya is a common thing with ZMR's as even i find it hard to find neutral without switching it off.
3. Keeping her clean will be a task.
keeping her clean isn't a tough job as it has big fairing which you can clean easily in comparison with other naked bikes.

Thanks Sachin and Diablo
I was cleaning my bike today and observed a cardboard wrapped thoroughly around the oil filter with the help of rubber bands. Should i remove the same
Also, can someone advice me about the bike cover? do we get it readymade and what's the approximate cost?

Oh that's really badOriginally posted by 111diablo111 View Postwhat a bad Diwali it was for me
some idiot threw some firework to my bike which was covered properly & that cover got ignited
it was of fiber so started melting & damaged most parts of bike's body along with few parts of body got burnt badly

now the condition is that few parts of body like its tail cowl n all got burnt n on fairing & tank there's this melted fiber which might peel the paint off when i'll try to remove it
- what should i do now?
- i'll get proper claim by icici?
Go for insurance claim with the help of ASC guys & keep us updated .
I already told it to you bro , please check back this post http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post711499Originally posted by Amarish View PostThanks Sachin and Diablo

i hope you wanted to say "oil cooler"..I've seen few more guys with same question & the answer is, YES remove it ASAP, its a mistake by SVC guys as they forgot to remove it before handling the bike to its owner.Originally posted by Amarish View PostThanks Sachin and Diablo

& you can get covers made by fiber which are strong enough so it won't get cut easily by blades or you can't tear it no matter how hard you try with your hands..its water proof as well as dust proof by 100%..i had that cover & it'll cost you only 350-450/- depending on the dealer..it was a custom made cover for my bike though..
now after getting fire it got burnt n melted & that was my bad luck
no one can do anything in this kind of case..i was an unlucky one

facing weird issues
today while inspecting the bike I found few issues :
1) while bike was on main stand , I started it, pressed the clutch and shifted to
first gear the rear tyre started moving (clutch still pressed)
2) whenever gear is shifted , very weird noise is heard (like "tann") and shifting is very hard
3)"ghrrr" noise coming from chain .
4) Throttle is very loose
!! I compared it with luvurbike's ZMR.
5) "chu chu" like sound coming from both wheels
It feels like my bike is singing
but i am hating it
anyone facing these issues ??? can anyone help ???I don't brake rules , I merely test their elasticity ;)

Lube the chain and check the tension... i guess it is loose.. tight it by using the screw which is at end of Left Swing arm
5) "chu chu" like sound coming from both wheels
Most probably dust and dirt in disc pads... get it cleaned with pressure water

vibrations are a big problem at high speeds and being a faired bike at top gear and top speed vibrations do creep in.... however if vibrations are high at low speed check for all screws.... particularly the engine protecting cowl right behind the front mudguard...Originally posted by Mahindra View PostI have tried in different occasions, windblast, tire pressures all were at my side.. it never goes beyond 120 mark... i dont think so zmr redlines the rpm... it doesnt goes above 8000rpm in whatever gears you are think so... even top speed is not my problem... just vibrations are big hell here.. i cant find a solutionWARNING!! even after shifting gears on right rpm's, if you r bike isn't going beyond 120kmph then do take it for complete checkup & vibrations might be causing due so some loosen part or some nut bolts..Originally posted by Mahindra View PostI have tried in different occasions, windblast, tire pressures all were at my side.. it never goes beyond 120 mark... i dont think so zmr redlines the rpm... it doesnt goes above 8000rpm in whatever gears you are think so... even top speed is not my problem... just vibrations are big hell here.. i cant find a solutionSuzuki Gixxer - Current
