    • My engine is heating up excessively . I never felt any heat on my foot (some times on tank) but when i switch off the ignition , park the bike and try to touch the engine I am unable to do that ( I ride 8-10 km daily) . Oil cooler is working fine as per the SVC . What could be the problem ???
      I don't brake rules , I merely test their elasticity ;)

Guess you mentioned about a new bike.Never use SS or FS oil in a new bike,Your bikes new engine needs settle down,SS or FS oil reduces friction and the runin process will be very very slow,Mineral oil is the best oil for settling engine,So stick to HH 10W30 oil or you can try Gulf 20W40 Mineral oil till 5000kms atleast.

Then its fine to use SS or FS oil,But heard that FS oil evaporates faster and needs topup earlier and guess it will be costly too, also oil leaks are also mentioned by some users.

Hey buddy the castrol power 1 racing oil I searched was 10w40.. Are you sure it's 10w50..??

Castrol Power 1 racing 4T oil is Jaso MA 2 certified so no problem... But as you've mentioned 10w50, I'll recommend you to check if you are using correct oil..

Make sure that it is an original product, many fake Castrols are available in the market. Look for seals and holograms.

                        • Since the ongoing discussion is about engine oils, I want to share my experience. I recently switched to Motul 15W 50 semi synthetic for my ZMR and have done about 300 kms or so after the oil change. I feel the bike doesn't accelerate quickly as it used to earlier when I was using the HH recommended mineral oil.

Could this be due to use of oil higher than the recommended grade ? Anyone else using a higher grade oil facing similar issues ?

Yes,15W50 oil makes a lag in acceleration as its very thick oil.20W40 oil will be fine for our daily needs,15W50 will be best if you are going for touring at high speeds for long time, which will keep the engine cool and smooth.

Can you tell me which grade oil would be best suited for ZMR? The recommend grade is 10W30 if I m not mistaken. I am completely new to this so a noob question, 20W40 grade oil would be more thick than 15W50 right or is it the other way round ?
