    • Without fairing ZMR

I am considering buying ZMR but being too practical a person, find the fairing a concern . I can do without it. specially in narrow traffic in city

Was wondering if the entire fairing setup can be replaced with the Karizma R fairing ?

yes it can be done but you may have problem in housing the meter console on the ZMA's front cowl stay.
however you will not face problem with ZMR's fairing even in dense traffic atlest i dont faced any with my bike in varanasi traffic.

        • Even though the riding posture and everything is similar between the ZMA and ZMR, I prefer riding the ZMR, because it gives a 'Driving a Car' feeling, and I bet its cause of the fairing, so in short it'd be a pointless mod to retro fit the ZMA fairing.

And here's another fact, the ZMA fairing and engine cowl squeals more than the ZMR fairing, so in short that means more peace of mind with the ZMR.

hmmm, so there is no direct fit for the meter console , is what i get from ur post.

I was really looking forward to a direct fit of ZMR fairing on ZMA without any mods.

@Mzee_Maverik Thanks buddy for ur inputs

                • Last month when i took delivery of my ZMR i too thought on the same lines of of SwaFa but after riding my bike for a month i think i can live with the fairing as it doesnt obstruct my riding style.

                  • well i'll just explain whats going thru my head with reference to the ZMR fairing

1- when i am looking for parking in a already cramped street the fairing will make it difficult to park in such situations

2- yes and the scratches it might get in such situation

3- in traffic jams a bike can pass thru narrow gaps between cars and save time , thats the reason i dont take my car to work. the ZMR fairing is going to limit that advantage of going thru narrow gaps, then it becomes a useless part of the bike in this situation

4- plus replacement costs would be high just in case it gets damaged in an acident

If all these were the concerns never buy a faired bike... fairing does a lot more than just add to the glamour of the bike... secondly i dont agree with the statement that one can't go through tight traffic jam situations... yesterday only i navigated through Mumbai at 7:15 pm... and ZMR is touring bike... fairing adds to dynamics and the crusing capabilities.... removing it will make the bike useless...

                      • My bike completed 15000 kms in 5 months yesterday... rode to Little Rann of Kutch and this was the worst ride as far as my bike is concerned.. the left fairing is entirely scratched (a crash) and both rims are bent... (courtesy night riding and potholes)

Sorry i dont agree with you, ZMA and ZMR have a little different riding posture which can be easily felt in long rides.... ZMR is more relaxed than ZMA

If handle end bar's are removed & mirrors are folded then the width of ZMR is equal to other bikes like passion , splendor , so there is nothing like one can't move in traffice jam due to fairing .

But as you are scared about scratches , parking problem then go for any naked bike .

I am fine and fit.. it was a high speed left hander.. took the corner to find the road just simply ended and it was all rock gravel... braked and was trying to control the bike on the gravel but the rider behind me was at a faster pace and banged from behind... thankfully none of us was hurt and the bikes were all functional....
